The 16-year-old and a friend were outside the 7-Eleven store on Nine Mile Road and Hayes in Eastpointe on Monday when three older teens in a Ford Explorer pulled into the parking lot. The 16-year-old said the first person to get out of the Explorer asked the teen and his friend where the money was at, then took a swing at the teen's friend. The three older teens beat the 16-year-old, leaving him with a bruised eye before slicing his hand and cutting off a finger to get a $5 bill from him, according to police. "I looked down and my hand was covered in blood," said the teen, whose name was being withheld. Police said a Good Samaritan fought off the robbers and they fled the scene. Detectives continue to search for the Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Explorer with a smashed out driver's side window. "They are pretty dangerous if they're willing to cut your finger off for $5, so we're hoping we can get some leads as to who these fellas are," said Lt. Leo Borowsky, of the Eastpointe Police Department. Anyone with information that may lead to an arrest has been asked to call Eastpointe police at (586) 445-5100.
