I also bought and played this game with my 11 year old daughter who loved the theme.  It felt like Zork meets 1995 graphics.  She became bored within the first 30 mins... I considered this exceptional as I was ready to give up sooner.  I did manage to go back and grit my teeth through a few more puzzles, but the linear nature soon had me wishing I had bought a pizza with the $20.

Neat idea poorly executed. If you're going to help people learn, it needs to be MORE INTERACTIVE!

Great review... I agreed with nearly every point.
