Title: How the hell else was he supposed to get home? Post by: Shockeye on July 22, 2005, 03:04:49 PM Quote from: ABC Action News Deputies: Upon release from jail, car thief swipes his ride home (http://www.wfts.com/stories/2005/07/050721cartheft.shtml) an ABC Action News report 07/21/05 LAND O' LAKES - Pasco County deputies say it didn't take long for a convicted auto burglar to return to a life of crime. Just minutes after Scott Lloyd got out of the land o' lakes jail, he allegedly stole a truck to drive home. (http://www.wfts.com/images/stories/2005/07/0721lloyd.jpg) "I am a little perturbed, to say the least," jail neighbor Eddie Perez told Action News. Perez has lived across the street from the Pasco County jail since it opened 14 years ago, but he never had any problems until Scott Lloyd was released from jail on his own recognizance last week. Cops say Lloyd had a 30-mile trip home -- and no ride -- until he saw Perez's pick-up truck. "He told our detective that he didn't want to walk home to Zephyrhills. Apparently, that's where he was going," sheriff's office spokesman Doug Tobin stated. Literally across the street from the jail is the bail bondsman building Eddie Perez owns. "He just walked over. He needed a ride. There was nobody here. I guess he couldn't call anybody, saw the trucks back there and went back there," Perez continued, growing increasingly agitated. Cops say Lloyd was one of only three inmates released from jail that night, and they found Perez's truck at Lloyd's home in Zephyrhills. "He should probably find another line of work. I mean he isn't very good at what he does," Tobin observed. "He should be put in jail and thrown the key away," Perez added. After all that, the judge said Lloyd can go free if he posts a $10,000 bond. Lloyd will have to look somewhere else for help, though -- Eddie Perez's shop said they're not posting it. They need to send these pieces of shit to pound me in the ass prison for a couple of years to give them time to see the error of their ways. There are people with 6 or 7 arrests that never spend time in anything worse than jail for a few days. It is ridiculous.

I'm considered pretty lucky, I've only had two breakins and one car stolen so far. Title: Re: How the hell else was he supposed to get home? Post by: kaid on July 25, 2005, 12:40:10 PM That is one reason I like living where I do. My car sits in my apartments parking lot and has for about 9 years now. I have never had a breakin nor my car stolen even in those times I forget to lock the doors. Advantages to living in an older area even if its not really fancy.
