85 and Alzhiemers, and a hell of a bio.  I should die so well.  I'm sorry to lose him, but everybody dies, and most live worse than he did.  I'm just glad he got past the six bullets on Juno Beach.  That would have been a tragedy, and we'd have never even known it.

I'll agree with that - from what I have read about him - he was one of the most sincere and grounded members of the cast.

I'm sad to think I'll never hear him say, "I'm givin it all she's got capt." in another movie.

I like how it sounds like he didn't mind that he was typecast and he'd be remembered as Scotty forever. He just decided to go with the flow and enjoy his life.

Everything I've ever heard said he was a good man. So here's to Jimmy Doohan.

Ordinarily I'd think this a bit goofy.  In this case it seems proper.

Yup...It was a failure when it was aired, but gained a giant following in the 70's through reruns.

More like it wasn't a success.  It didn't rock the world, but I watched it religiously as a kid, and it got ok ratings.  But it wasn't Wagon Train in Space, which was what the networks were promised, and it wasn't big enough to be as different as it was, so they canned it.  Fools.

And all of them better than Voyager.

Voyager had its moments...especially once Jeri Ryan joined, rawr.

I didn't watch Star Trek until Voyager came around, so I guess I'll have to say that I liked it more than others. It got me to watch everything else. I still don't like the first series though. The movies are what got me to appreciate the original cast.

I watched NExt Gen when I was in middle school 'cuz I had a raging crush on Wil Wheaton. Please don't laugh. Besides, Jean-Luke was the best cap'n EVAR.

I still find myself straightening my shirt, just like him. :P  Stewart IRL is so over the top he makes Shatner look like Sir Alec Guinness.

God, Stand By Me was a 12-year-old girl's beatfest. River Phoenix was never as hot as he was in that movie (creepy, I know, but then he got all pimply and strung out and died). That, and The Outsiders.

Go ahead, point and laugh, but honestly, I think Janeway would kick of all of their asses. She has one tactic -- Trap the opponent and turn on Self Destruct (and she's not playing around, like Kirk does). Nothing stops a suicidal bitch.

I couldn't stand Wil Wheaton on Star Trek. I am a big fan of his now, mostly because of his blog (http://wilwheaton.net/). He is a pretty gifted writer.

I heard a hi-fucking-larious story last summer of a coked-out Wil Wheaton in a hot tub at a party, complaining loudly to whoever would listen that no one would give him a blow job.

I don't claim to know him or his personal habits, but from every impression I get, that would be completely out of character. Are you sure it wasn't Corey Feldman? I can totally see that  :lol:
