Title: AMD Files Antitrust Complaint Against Intel In U.S. Federal District Court
Post by: Ralence on June 30, 2005, 10:44:02 AM
Hadn't seen this posted anywhere yet, but here (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Corporate/VirtualPressRoom/0,,51_104_543~99713,00.html) is the link to the AMD press release for the lawsuit.

It's actually interesting, and hopefully will help AMD, which actually has been a better price/performance chip for quite a long time now.  I think AMD has gained popularity with most people "in the know", and if they're successful here, it should drastically drop Intel's pricing structure if they are forced to actually, you know, compete in the marketplace.

Even Apple®, a pioneer of the PC and one of the industry’s enduring innovators, announced that it would switch exclusively to x86 processors to run Mac OS® software beginning in 2006.

Ah, yes.  I forgot!
