Girls say he used ruse to molest them

VISTA – A girls soccer coach who claimed he was under an evil spell persuaded two young players to have sex to cure him, according to testimony at a Superior Court hearing yesterday.

Lidio Castrejon Jimenez, 28, faces 11 counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Superior Court Judge Joel Pressman ordered the coach to stand trial on the charges after the four-hour hearing.

Defense attorney Karsten Boone declined to comment afterward.

Jimenez, an auto mechanic, came to Vista from Mexico at the end of 2004 and moved into his brother's home, where he is accused of molesting a 13-year-old girl living there who played for the team, said prosecutor Christine Israel.

The girl testified that Jimenez told her his family was cursed and the spell killed his brother. He said that unless she slept with him, he would die and her mother could be hurt, the girl said.

The curse caused Jimenez to spit up blood and have sharp pains in his lower back, the girl testified he told her.

Jimenez claimed to talk to an angel named "Antonio," who instructed the girl to have sex through hand-written letters left in the home, she said.

One letter instructed the girl to check a vial that contained Jimenez's "life force," the girl testified, which would fluctuate depending on how often they had sex.

The girl said she cried after the first encounter and would not kiss or hug Jimenez during sex, she testified.

In early 2005, Jimenez became the coach of a Vista girls soccer team called Dos Naciones (Two Nations).

At the end of a practice, he told the team about the curse and that he would be calling on some girls to help him, according to three players who testified at the hearing.

One 14-year-old girl on the team believed the story and had sex with him on three occasions, she testified, although she also admitted to liking him.

If convicted, Jimenez faces a sentence of 16 years in prison. He remains at the Vista Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

I was going to applaud his devious ploy until I read that it was for kids. Anyone can fool kids. I wonder if he used Jesus Juice?

Don't worry Velorath. I had the same thought. If they had been 10 year olds, I can believe it. But at 13 and 14 they should know better than Santa Clause and curses that are cured by sex.
