Title: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on May 25, 2005, 08:53:13 PM How does Friday at 10pm sound to everyone?
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Raging Turtle on May 25, 2005, 10:47:39 PM That's noon saturday for me... I might be hungover, but I'll try to be there!
Any preferences on format and/or seriousness level? Haven't played much for a while, so I may have to throw some new decks together. The past few days I've been online and having fun with a very tough singleton deck. Needs to be updated with a few Champs and Betrayers cards. I'll play just about anything outside of chk block though Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on May 25, 2005, 10:53:36 PM Hm. yea, We could have a format theme each week. Trible, singleton, rainbow stairwell, etc.
If you want to do singleton the first week, I'd be into that. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Hoax on May 26, 2005, 07:45:24 AM you two have fun
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on May 26, 2005, 08:12:35 AM We will!
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: WayAbvPar on May 26, 2005, 09:16:33 AM I would like to play, but I haven't purchased cards in a year or more. I should log in and hand over my crappy collection for one of you to use for fun and profit.
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on May 26, 2005, 09:18:00 AM I would like to play, but I haven't purchased cards in a year or more. I should log in and hand over my crappy collection for one of you to use for fun and profit. Or keep them if you think you'll ever come back. Otherwise I'd support your first choice as well. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Merusk on May 26, 2005, 09:51:15 AM So is it just you F13 types, or you going to harass some of the corp clan into a game as well? I haven't been on since getting my ass thouroughly kicked in my leagues about 2 weeks back. (See the previous "I'm Cursed" post.) But I know Fridays at 10 you could usualy Find Zen, Wyrd and Arg online and I could make an apperance as well. Casual play is much more appealing than League play to someone willing to dedicate as much time and $ to MTG as I am.
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on May 26, 2005, 09:54:48 AM Whoever. Really though, considering the crossover I don't see why we're all not just in one clan. But that's another whatever for another day.
It's not a guild only thing. We should probably all meet up in one room. /join kekela That sound good? ok. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: tazelbain on May 26, 2005, 12:33:26 PM Shoot, I was hoping to make friday night GW PvP night.
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Bunk on May 27, 2005, 10:38:55 AM I may try showing up tonight. You can all quake and fear my roughly $30 worth of cards!
(You know your collection sucks when you make two color decks simply because you don't have enough cards of one color to make a valid deck) Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Raging Turtle on May 27, 2005, 06:15:21 PM To give undecided people some incentive to go - I can give away heaps of unneeded commons to people who want to round out their collections
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on May 27, 2005, 07:22:38 PM I'm in.
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Johny Cee on May 28, 2005, 05:23:58 AM Bah!
Was going to show up, but never got up from my mid-afternoon nap..... Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Merusk on May 28, 2005, 02:03:48 PM RT was there when I logged in at 10. I went AFK for a while to switch out laundry and when I came back he was gone. Since it was 10:15 and I was alone I figured nobody else was showing and logged myself. Hrm.
I'm up for trying again sometime later. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: WayAbvPar on May 31, 2005, 11:16:07 AM Crap- I was gonna download the client and show up...totally forgot.
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Xilren's Twin on May 31, 2005, 02:25:14 PM Holiday weekend made me a no show; will try this friday.
Xilren Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: HaemishM on June 03, 2005, 07:49:25 PM Schild will be late to this, he's just now been able to get the store closed. He'll be there soon as he can.
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on June 03, 2005, 08:54:28 PM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND. No one there. Sigh. I'll idle for a while.
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Merusk on June 03, 2005, 09:42:10 PM Oh crap, it's Friday. Work's been so lousy this week I forgot about this. Yay for vendors who can't fulfill the terms of their contracts!
*sigh* Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Daydreamer on June 03, 2005, 10:26:08 PM I'm afraid I work very late Fridays, at least until July. Is Sat night good for anyone?
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Xilren's Twin on June 03, 2005, 11:50:01 PM As of 2.30am, no one else is in. Drats. Prob worthy just to check in TS to see whos doing what since the MTGO client is very low footprint to leave open while doing other stuff.
Xilren [edit] soon as I posted this, Schild saw it and hopped on for some fun. Got to see the reanimated legend deck listed on the board. Good stuff. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Daydreamer on June 05, 2005, 05:18:54 PM Bah, you just missed me then. I got bored and went drinking at around 10pm PST/1am EST
Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: WayAbvPar on June 05, 2005, 05:58:33 PM I was on later on Friday, but no one else was about. I just downloaded the client and checked my stash- only 466 cards. I could have sworn I had like 4 times that, but it has been a long time since I played. I am a tradionalist- I like the 7th and 8th editions (they are most like the old school Magic from back in the day).
Holla here if/when we decide to get together. I am totally clueless about most of the new mechanics and all the new cards, so some intra-clan play (with pointers) would help. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on June 10, 2005, 08:46:18 PM So, like, Friday night is a bitch. Apparently I'll always be closing at EBGames. Blurgle. I haven't seen the manager close since I started working. Just because he has 3 kids and a wife doesn't mean well, it may mean something. Just not to me.
A squirrel ate my soul last week. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Xilren's Twin on June 10, 2005, 09:46:21 PM Apparently so. I just hopped on now in case anyone wants to join me.
BTW, Daydreamer, you actually planning on playing some more league matches? Xilren Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on June 10, 2005, 09:47:55 PM BTW, Daydreamer, you actually planning on playing some more league matches? Roflcoptor. I'm actually busy finishing trying to set up XBL. Then I've got some other shit to do. Needless to say Kamigawa isn't all it's cracked up to be. I miss gold cards. Oh and exciting cards. Goryo's is great fun just to beat the shit out of people. I need unpredictability and I can't afford enough IPA stuff. Goryo's is great fun just to beat the shit out of people. I need unpredictability and I can't afford enough IPA stuff. Took the Goryos deck out for a spin the other night. Fun, even if I know I'm likely to get beat down by tier 1 decks. Plentiful help coming with the new set. Footsteps of the Goryo might make dragons a necessary part of the deck. As well as that black spirit with the "sac, give all creatures -X/-X where X is equal to the cards in your hand" ability. Just found out that 9th ed goes in this summer, which took me by surprise. Will be interesting to see how this shakes up the format. Also, for those who do premium events: Coming up is the Magic Online anniversary, with the "no tix to play" nonsense. This dovetails nicely with Magic Online giving away free Unhinged Land just for trying a Premium matchup. Look for special avatars to be given away that weekend as well either for logging on or playing premium. I think that's how I got a Flame-tongue Kavu avatar..... Edit: For those that haven't seen them, Unhinged Land looks pretty sweet. It sells for a couple bucks in cardboard, and I'd be surprised if it didn't retail for a couple tix online. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on June 15, 2005, 06:58:54 PM As in I can play as many as I want? That's the best place to tweak Goryo's and if it's true, I'll be online for 72 hours. Nevermind, just went to the web page. Drafts and [for pay but 6x prize payout] constructed. Bleh. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: Johny Cee on June 15, 2005, 08:54:09 PM As in I can play as many as I want? That's the best place to tweak Goryo's and if it's true, I'll be online for 72 hours. Nevermind, just went to the web page. Drafts and [for pay but 6x prize payout] constructed. Bleh. Yes, but.... Drafting, even if you don't win, is the same as buying a three packs. No extra costs. And if you win a match, you come out ahead. With the premier events, they become much more attractive if you're getting an unhinged land (I see unhinged plains selling for 3 tix)and an avatar for free. (Unsure about avatar.... Just going from last years recollections) Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on June 15, 2005, 09:06:11 PM If there's an avatar. They haven't announced it, which is unlike them.
It's a lot harder for them to just add avatars haphazardly because of the new Vanguard shit. Title: Re: f13 Magic Night Post by: schild on July 01, 2005, 05:50:14 PM Alright I'm in game from now until a while from now. (9pm est at this moment.)
