Title: I'm guessing he'll end up with $1 out of his $34.7 million. Mary Lackey, 39, of Orange City filed suit Monday against Robert G. Swofford Jr., winner of a $34.7 million lump sum payout late last year. In March, a judge ruled Swofford should pay her $2,000 a month for care of their 12-year-old daughter. But Lackey wants more, now that she's seen what sister Ann Swofford received for child support. In that settlement, worked out after he won the lottery but before he claimed the prize, Ann Swofford got $5.25 million and $1 million to support their 11-year-old son. In Lackey's new suit, she asks for an unspecified amount of Swofford's winnings to be put it in a trust fund for her. There is no mention of child support. Lackey later suggested that $2.6 million might be the right amount. "I did not have a marriage contract, but every aspect of the relationship was as a marriage," Lackey said. "I cooked. I cleaned. I took care of children. ... We had a physical relationship." Lackey acknowledged the family's living arrangement -- two sisters living with one man -- was unusual, but she said she was only 25 when their physical relationship began. "We just sort of fell into it," Lackey said. "Bob was saying there was nothing to be ashamed of." Swofford would not discuss their lives, but he did say he was happy he won the lottery. "Yeah, I mean, everything has its own set of troubles," he said. "Am I happy? Absolutely. Am I wishing she'd get a new life? Yes." And being that it's Florida and a lottery winner, there was a good chance.

Post by: Paelos on May 25, 2005, 07:29:30 PM $24,000 to raise a child per year is plenty. I could live a decent lifestyle on my own for that amount with no taxes removed. $2.6 million after the fact is just stupid.
