Dad Allegedly Kidnapped Daughter's Beau (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,157195,00.html)

EAGLE, Idaho — An Idaho man has been arrested and accused of attempting to kidnap his daughter's boyfriend because he didn't like the couple dating.

Paul David Thomas, 49, has been charged with felony kidnapping and aggravated assault. He was being held in the Ada County jail on $20,000 bond. He could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted on the kidnapping charge.

Sheriff's investigators say Thomas allegedly grabbed the 18-year-old boyfriend in front of Eagle High School west of Boise during the school's lunch hour Wednesday and forced the young man, whose name was not released, into his van. The teen told detectives Thomas indicated he had a knife and made unspecified threats of violence because of his persistence in pursuing a relationship with Thomas' daughter.

"It looks like his daughter and the victim had a relationship that the father disapproved of," Capt. Ron Freeman of the Ada County sheriffs office told the Idaho Press-Tribune newspaper. "He really felt he was in grave danger when he was thrown into the vehicle by Mr. Thomas."

According to police, the teenager escaped from the van when Thomas stopped at an intersection. The teen ran across a field and jumped into another car occupied by some classmates. Thomas allegedly chased that vehicle in his van until it stopped and the boyfriend fled on foot. The teen summoned police by using a cell phone he borrowed from the driver of the other vehicle and Thomas was arrested at the scene.

God, if you think that's bad (it is), listen to this. My cousin was dating this girl in high school. One day, while snoopingthrough his room, his grandma found condoms in his underwear drawer. She calls the girl's parents, totally bypassing my aunt and uncle, who btw, are present and capable parents. So the girl's dad decides to press statutory rape charges against my cousin, who was 15 at the time, and had a restraining order issued against him. The girl protested the entire thing, but the dad was unrelenting. In Oregon, evidently, minors are incapable of giving consent to sex, even to each other.

I won't have to worry about any of this because my (future) daughter will be chained in a basement until she's 26. And even after that, she'll still have a curfew.

I'm a male feminist: The ladies are right, men are pigs. And I've got to do my part to help them

Mmm, sexism.  If I was your Uncle I would have filed stautory rape charges against the girl just to point out how stupid the whole thing is.

I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until I was 14, date until I was 16, or stay out past 11 ever. Until I moved out at 18. Ironically, my brother was the one who got in all the trouble, when they thought they needed to worry about me. Oh, wait a minute. Did my parents actually do their job correctly? Could this be why I'm not working in a jack shack with three kids?

Sadly, my aunt and uncle liked the girl and was glad their son was dating her. Oh, well.

Poor Shockeye, this is why you don't have those expensive "kids" things.  :-P

I'd rather not use the roflcopter more than once in any given day, so "r00fles' will have to suffice.
