Title: A 'mark read' option for posts
Post by: Viin on May 19, 2005, 09:33:48 AM
Hiya,

Anyway we can get a 'mark this post read' button for the 'unread posts' list? The 'mark all as read' button works, but when so many posts floating around it'd be nice to mark the ones I don't care about (Useless News) read so I don't have to scroll through 2 pages of posts to find ones I want to read.

Thanks!  :-D :-) :-( :-o :? 8-) :x  :-P      :|

Oh, and your : | icon isn't working.

Each board/forum has a "Mark as Read" button.

In the old days, we had to keep a separate written record of which posts we read, and we liked it!

Each board/forum has a "Mark as Read" button.

Guess I didn't think of that, but it would still be nice if it was on that one page so I don't have to jump all over the place. Plus, not all the posts I don't want to read are on a board I want to skip completely. Too many clicks makes baby Jason stabby.

In the old days, we had to keep a separate written record of which posts we read, and we liked it!

If I had a camera here I'd show you my notebook, it goes something like this:

 General 3357 read 19-May-05 10:45a

Each line is a new post and the last read date. So I can flip back a few pages, to 2 days ago, and see that I read post 2522 (General Discussion) on 17-May-05 at 2pm. Must have been a busy morning.

This gets old - any idea how many notebooks I go through? About 1 a month!

The admins all have stock in Wernham Hogg. It is a big conspiracy to move more paper.

While we're being whiny babies, I'd like to add that it would be nice if there were a "go to top of page" link on each post, so I don't have to figure out which is the fastest way to get to the top. (I usually end up just moving the bar on the side, but wah! I don't wanna)

Let me guess....You have a Mac? Get a scroll mouse.

Really, it's OK.

You can't be much lazier than me. I don't even go to "work".  :-P
