Quote Wendy's Drops Investigation Of Chili Finger The senior vice president of the Wendy's restaurant chain is in Northern California doing "damage control," NBC11 news reported. He says Wendy's has closed its internal investigation into the finger a woman claimed she found in a bowl of chili. The woman made the claim after eating at the Wendy's on Monterey Road. The company says its investigation confirms there is no evidence the finger came from Wendy's. Now it's turning the investigation over to the San Jose police. Wendy's says the negative publicity has hurt business so much, it had to cutback hours for its employees. Bay Area franchises have also seen losses of 30 to 50 percent in the past few weeks. To help bring back customers, Wendy's is giving away free Frosties at all of its Bay Area locations all weekend long.
