All the horse meat I've ever eaten was too stringy or too tough. Apparently they're mostly muscle and tough as coconuts to cook.

Shame too. I'm not a big fan of equines. Making them food and glue is just fitting.

Isn't this along the same lines of that radio hoax they did a while back?

EDIT: It's registered to Domains by Proxy, a private registration group that hides the true owner. This is most certainly a hoax.

Horse meat has a reputation for being tough, but this is mostly a myth.  As with any animal, some meat is tough and some is tender.

Horse meat is eaten world-wide, and only became taboo in Western countries thanks to guess who?  That's right, those wacky Christians again.  Pope Gregory III started the effort to stop the "pagan" practice, calling it "abominable", using the same scriptural basis that make the meat unclean for Jews.  Today, virtually no horse meat is eaten in the Unite States, although much horse meat is sold from the United States for consumption in other countries.

I'd hazard a guess that you could treat that shit like brisket. Mmmm.....brisket. But I've heard that horse meat is greasy. I found a horse skull last summer doing field work, and I couldn't even bleach the oil stains out.

I'd definitely try it once.  Wouldn't bet on one of those opening around me, though... members of the horsie set would probably pitch a fit.

I've always wanted to say that Dangerfield line, "This steak still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it!"
