Title: I hate you so much, Schild.
Post by: ahoythematey on March 31, 2005, 12:37:00 PM
Income Tax Refund showed up earlier than I anticipated, and I bought a PSP and used copy of MG Ac!d(couldn't find Lumines).  Fuck your fanboyishness, I still love Nintendo and my DS.

Anybody else spend some or all of their refund on relatively unhelpful things?

My income tax refund was the price of a PSP to the penny. I can't wait to get it back. And it wasn't fanboyishness. Fanboys don't admit to being in the "They can do no wrong camp." I did.

Mmmmmm, we're going to have a review of pretty much everything worthwhile pretty soon for the PSP.

I might get a DS again for a few games, but it'll be in 6 months when a used one is $50. My local EB has 18 used DS' in (more than their initial shipment) and keeps dropping the price. I think it's $100 now.

Why is this in gen disc?

Meh.  Wasn't really paying attention.  You know, Katamari Damacy and all that still rocks my face.  I'm hoping the nearby gamestop receives another shipment of Lumines soon so I can return Chaos Theory and essentially swap the two.  Fuck Ubisoft and their viral frogware.

EDIT: Oh, and fuck Sony for their typically problematic first-run hardware and Best Buy for their $40-extorsion/replacement plan.  Being a gamer is like having a little black hole within your wallet.

Mine's still sitting on my desk. I'm tempted to start drawing Sam Fischer furry porn and send it to UBISofts office. On very nice paper. In the [old skool] mail. So they understand what it's like to open a box and have a knife jump out and start stabbing you in the genitals.

Wow.  That battery reaches full charge quickly.

I almost hope EA continues its attempt at buying out Ubisoft so both are drug down into the same sphere of Hell where 3DO currently resides.

I'm still trying to think of a game that I should purchase with the PSP.   Just nothing at all jumps out at me.  I don't like card games.  I don't care much for puzzlers.   Nothing is just screaming at me saying, "BUY THIS CONSOLE FOR ME!!!!!!"

Of course, I could always wait until my trip in September.  By then they might have some sort of flagship title I care about.

Schild almost got me too.

I was at BestBuy with my wallet, ready to rock and roll. Alas, I none of the launch titles seemed worth a $325 total outlay. I was so close.

I may end up buying one before a trip to Italy, but I would hate for a dirty gypsy to steal it from me.

He also almost got me too - then I realized he was likely a mole from Sony.

The software obviously exists.

My predictions are coming true one by one.

Emulators 1 week after release.

Next: The Four Horsemen. Maybe. Maybe Not.

Probably not.

Does that file work?

EDIT: Nevermind.

My full writeup on the PSP will be posted Monday morning. I was going to put it out today, but then I thought. Nahhhhh. Better to start a week off with so much shit. So all you people waiting for thoughts on all the games will just have to wait a little longer. Fabricated has a very long MG:A writeup he'll be posting, uhm, whenever.

My current thoughts are that Lumines not being available anywhere now is total bullshit, the image-quality is indeed very impressive, the screen smudges up too easily and essentially requires the wiping cloth to travel with the PSP, and that more games(hopefully with less-awful storylines) need to be tactical-stealth card turn-based.

I've also decided that using another person's unencrypted wireless connection within my neighborhood is totally awesome because it saves me that $15 a month that I send down the WoW toilet.

Just realized, the PSP(or DS, either really) desperately needs some Poy Poy and Bomberman.
