Man kills family dog because of name (http://www.wavy.com/Global/story.asp?S=3120587)

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. A West Virginia man has been charged with killing his family's dog with two pickaxes.
Police say the dog's name -- Felony -- reminded him he had recently been charged with a felony.

Twenty-two-year-old Kenneth James Watkins of Gerrardstown -- near the Virginia line -- was charged yesterday with a felony count of animal cruelty for killing the 11-year-old black and white border collie on Tuesday.

Berkeley County Deputy Terry Shetley says Watkins told his family and a neighbor what he had done. An aunt kicked Watkins out of the house and called police. Watkins' brother showed deputies a sign over the dog's fresh grave in the yard that said ... quote ... "Don't Kill No More Dogs."

Watkins is being held in the Eastern Regional Jail on a 20-thousand-dollar bond.

According to court records, Watkins was free on bail after being charged last month with a felony count of grand larceny in connection with the theft of a pickup truck.

I guess since killing the dog was a felony too, either the dog was psyhic or just eerie foreshadowing.
