Long story short, the big thing that's been facing us for years now is a conversion of the forums from SMF 1.1.10 to something modern and not shit. That requires updating SMF to 2.x which we want to do, but doesn't work quite right and THEN convert that to whatever. So we've been putting it off.
GoDaddy is no longer given us an option. Some time between now and a month from now, they're going to migrate the server. It's basically a guarantee this will fail. In the meantime, we're going to do what we can. I do understand the basics of discord. It fucking blows, and I realize nobody gives a shit what I think. If anything, it's a bit easy to get lost in, as time passes faster in real time than between forum posts.
That said, we also want a new version of the forums, but we don't want to lose any legacy forum stuff. |
