Title: No one cared? - Planetside Arena Dies in Early Access
Post by: 5150 on December 19, 2019, 04:52:49 AM
Didn't see this posted anywhere so I thought I'd mention it

Planetside Arena, Sony's Daybreaks attempt to turn Planetside 2 into a Fortnite competitor has been cancelled without making it out of Early Access after ~4 months

Is that a new record or does it not count as it was never 'released'?

Man I was a huge into Planetside 1 and watched the horror of Planetside 2 and even I didn't know about this, nor did the 3 x-clanmates I used to play 1 with.

So I think we've identified an issue it was facing.

It was supposed to launch in February. Then out of the blue came Apex Legends so they "wisely" decided to reschedule launch. The reality is that it was just too late and too little for a project looking old and that was definitely nothing like what the old timers liked. It had zero chances, to the point that you always wondered "what were they thinking, no but seriously".

It seems Daybreak has become the place decent but not quite excellent games go to die these days.
