Title: Blizzard Live Streams
Post by: Merusk on August 26, 2016, 02:56:35 PM
So Blizzard just added live streaming to Facebook via their Launcher. I hadn't heard anything about this. Now everyone gets to see how much I suck.

Well, it's working, Facebook broke. Literally.

I immediately located and disabled the setting.

Who the fuck thinks everyone wants to set streaming of their video game playing visible to the world.

I'm sure it'll be unset, by accident, of course, in future updates of battle.net.

Probably the same people who are on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and all the other social media hot garbage 24/7.

But it can't actually do anything unless you click the "let this app fuck up my wall" button within Facebook somewhere... right?

Eh, YouTube. But not Facebook. FB is what their stodgy parents use. Insta is the closest "wall" they use.

Any platform that tries to compel you to care about what strangers think is for total assholes.

Hell, caring about what your friends think is for assholes.

Maybe it's a cultural thing, but the kids I work with pretty much all use Facebook.  But then, they mostly also don't play computer games, outside of free flash games.

Wow definitely a cultural thing, even more notable because of the Flash games thing. Flash to kids I know is like 10 years ago, or before all the smartphones started getting passed back and then down and now the goddamn kids have outgrown better electronics than I had before I was 30!  :geezer:

FB is for old people.  Fact.  Maybe some people live in third-world areas, I don't know.

I run facebook groups for my senior classes. The kids will check the work and information I post, as opposed to Edmodo etc.
