Title: Sicario Post by: K9 on August 20, 2016, 03:36:33 PM How do we not already have a thread for this? I know the film came out a while ago, but I finally caught it on Netflix and damn, what a solid thriller it was.
If you haven't seen this I'd definitely recommend it. Title: Re: Sicario Post by: Shannow on August 20, 2016, 06:01:46 PM I was like cool!
Digs up netflix username. 'This movie is not available to stream' NOT HAPPY JAN Title: Re: Sicario Post by: grebo on August 21, 2016, 10:20:30 AM Saw in theater. Loved it.

Title: Re: Sicario Post by: Strazos on August 23, 2016, 02:24:40 PM The scenes in Ciudad Juarez were completely legit and well-done. The rest of the movie was entertaining as well.
Title: Re: Sicario Post by: apocrypha on August 23, 2016, 10:46:48 PM Yeah, pretty well filmed but I have to say I found the story a bit flat. Didn't really need a 2 hour film to tell me that the CIA are evil bastards.
Title: Re: Sicario Post by: calapine on August 24, 2016, 04:36:57 AM It felt like a poor mans Traffic with more action, sort of.

Title: Re: Sicario Post by: Abagadro on December 11, 2016, 01:52:15 AM Watched this today (and yes I am bumping lots of old shit, I am watching movies to distract myself from the shitshow of the current universe, wanna fight about it?).
Really good flick. Ya, the story is pretty "flat" but the tension and execution are great. I like that the main protagonist is basically just a bureaucratic necessity that contributes nothing to the narrative other than being frustrated and serving as (coerced) legal cover. Del Toro is great as usual. I pretended this was basically his character from Traffic after lots of shit had gone down. |
