Title: Renowned Explorers Post by: MrHat on December 31, 2015, 07:08:11 AM I picked up Renowned Explorers in the Steam sale for $12.
It's probably the best boardgame video game I've played. The gameplay reminds of Eldritch Horror - you pick a party of explorers with different abilities, take them adventures on different submaps of the world map. Each node you travel in the submap reveals different encounters that you have to roll to defeat. Then you base back after an encounter and try to focus your group to maximize "Renown". Repeat for 5 cycles and get a final score. It's quite polished and very fun. Tons of replayability. Art style is great too. Launch trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq-D_GOq8Ck I think my highest score so far was about 2000 but I failed the final encounter so I didn't technically win. That was on "Adventure" mode standard difficulty. Title: Re: Renowned Explorers Post by: Sky on December 31, 2015, 05:36:24 PM I like it, too. Only reason I haven't been playing it more is Witcher 3. Put in an afternoon and really enjoyed it, will come back when I'm Gerald-ed out.

There's actually a whole lot of games that I wish were on my iPad. Title: Re: Renowned Explorers Post by: Khaldun on January 31, 2016, 05:17:22 AM This is a lot of fun. The variation on rock-paper-scissors is surprisingly tricky and takes a while to master.
