Title: It Follows Post by: Surlyboi on April 07, 2015, 06:28:02 PM If nothing else, the marketing and advertising for It Follows harkens back to the last time horror films actually had the capacity to actually scare you rather than gross you out with gratuitous violence and gore. The movie itself is almost Lovecraftian in its restraint and appreciation for the value of the scare in your head rather than the one explicitly shown to you. Solid film all the way around.

Horror movies have almost become a dead genre of stumbling from one trend to the next with the occasional gem. This is in theaters right?

Very tense throughout the whole thing, if not actually really scary. I can see why it's getting rave reviews, though I'm not sure I'm really that big of a fan. Plot was totally nonsensical, but a sound plot wasn't the purpose of the movie.
Worth giving a shot to see if you like it. |
