Quote SEATTLE -- A man trying to rob a Starbucks store left empty-handed thanks to quick-thinking workers who played dumb to foil the bandit's plans, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported. Slideshow ROBBERY THWARTED Slideshow: Starbucks Employees Thwart Robbery Attempt The stickup attempt took place as employees were getting ready to open the store on Eastlake Avenue East on Tuesday of last week, police said. The man demanded money, but a worker told him she couldn't open the cash register unless he bought something. "Another employee offered the man a caffeinated beverage of his choice," said Sean Whitcomb of the Seattle Police Department. "The suspect paced back and forth and threw up his hands and said 'I can't believe this,' and then stormed out of the store." A surveillance camera got a picture of the man, who wore a blue sweatshirt with the number 46 on it and Etnies tennis shoes with a prominent "e" logo. Police also have the fingerprints the man left on the door on his way out. Wow, this guy sure had a plan, didn't he?
