Title: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: sickrubik on November 05, 2013, 11:43:42 AM https://www.humblebundle.com/
Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Scribblenauts, Fear 2, Fear 3, Lord of the rings: War in the North for a little over $4. Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Cyrrex on November 07, 2013, 10:05:36 AM Does anyone know if the Batman games are of the God forsaken GFWL versions? I ask because I know they have made them with GFWL in the recent past. I assume not, but it is a dealbreaker for me.
Otherwise, nice bundle. Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Cadaverine on November 07, 2013, 10:45:57 AM From everything I've read, GFWL was patched out of both games when Microsoft pulled the plug on GFWL. I know the Arkham Asylums GOTY version I got in earlier on during one of the Steam sales doesn't have the GFWL popup. I don't recall Arkham City having it either.
Arkham Asylum doesn't play nice with Avast Antivirus, though, if you happen to be using it. Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Hoax on November 07, 2013, 11:40:56 AM I really don't like the batman games, if somebody buys this for them and doesn't want fear 3. Let me know. Its the only one I don't have. :awesome_for_real:
Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Ginaz on November 07, 2013, 05:10:50 PM I picked up both the WB package and the Daedalic weekly deal. It looks like you can't give someone your Steam key anymore. You have to link it directly to your Steam account.
Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: rk47 on November 07, 2013, 06:04:08 PM The games are no longer separate steam keys.
It's a key to the whole bundle. :heartbreak: Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Rendakor on November 07, 2013, 07:39:23 PM From everything I've read, GFWL was patched out of both games when Microsoft pulled the plug on GFWL. Won't install with Avast installed/running? I've never played the Batman games and was going to grab this, but now I'm hesitant.Arkham Asylum doesn't play nice with Avast Antivirus, though, if you happen to be using it. You just have to authorize your account through the site and it adds the game to that account. I bought the bundle and it doesn't even give you a key. It installed, but would crash the game when I tried to launch it. It was only Arkham Asylum, though, I didn't have any issues with Arkham City while running Avast. I just switched to AVG, which took care of the issue with Arkham Asylum. Fake edit: While searching Google for some links about the issue, I found a Steam post saying Avast had fixed things, so it presumably isn't an issue anymore. http://steamcommunity.com/app/35140/discussions/0/846957366835550647/ (http://steamcommunity.com/app/35140/discussions/0/846957366835550647/) Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: luckton on November 09, 2013, 08:34:21 AM The games are no longer separate steam keys. Just picked up the bundle this morning. Kudos to the HB team for simplifying shit. To be perfectly clear, I'm not totally happy with this solution. I often would buy a bundle, even if it included a game I already had. I would then give away the spare key. Now, unless I'm missing something, that's not possible. I got the bundle and got no notifications of it running asylum GOTY If anyone wants FEAR 2 i can give that to you(already gave away FEAR 3 sorry) Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Goumindong on November 09, 2013, 05:06:52 PM The games are no longer separate steam keys. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City had their GFWL shit patched out a month or so ago. Guess I'll bite then hope I remember this if I ever decide to play Batman and it somehow doesn't work.Fake edit: While searching Google for some links about the issue, I found a Steam post saying Avast had fixed things, so it presumably isn't an issue anymore. http://steamcommunity.com/app/35140/discussions/0/846957366835550647/ (http://steamcommunity.com/app/35140/discussions/0/846957366835550647/) Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Bunk on November 11, 2013, 06:21:33 AM Picked this up as I'd never played the FEAR games. I forgot how much I enjoyed this style of shooter. It fits perfectly with my obsessively cautious playstyle.
First time I walked in to an empty room, then went to back out and bumped in to something that I know wasn't behind me a second ago... :awesome_for_real:. Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: HaemishM on November 12, 2013, 11:50:48 AM Humble Bundle now has the Humble Store (https://www.humblebundle.com/store), with daily sales - 75% goes to the devs, 15% goes to the Humble Bundle and 10% goes to charity. Biggest thing today is Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon for $5 and a few other indies including Papers, Please.
Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Paelos on November 12, 2013, 11:54:21 AM How do the games work? Are they downloaded on Steam?
Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: HaemishM on November 12, 2013, 11:55:24 AM Click on the game's icon and it will show you what kind of key is available. Most of them give you Steam keys though instead of just giving you a key, it made me login to Steam in my browser to authenticate the game.

That is just how this bundle was. Sometimes i get multi keys sometimes i get individual keys. I associated my steam account with my humble account and then was able to either gift (by sending someone a link) or assign it to my steam account for each game Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Shannow on November 13, 2013, 06:48:57 PM Click on the game's icon and it will show you what kind of key is available. Most of them give you Steam keys though instead of just giving you a key, it made me login to Steam in my browser to authenticate the game. This was a tad annoying as I haven't had to log into Steam in years? Couldn't remember my password, then the recover password function wasn't working. Godamn making me work for games I paid 5 bucks for. #firstworldproblems Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Bunk on November 14, 2013, 06:23:07 AM I'm confused. You've managed to use a PC some time in the last five years without logging in to Steam?
Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Tebonas on November 14, 2013, 06:29:37 AM Insofar as the Steam Client can remember the password you use the first time you log in, yes.
Windows 7 machines are stable enough you don't have to reinstall them all the time. Mine is still from when Windows 7 came out, and thats 4 years now. Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: luckton on November 14, 2013, 06:42:49 AM If you haven't jumped on this, they just added the following to the WB bundle:
- Mortal Kombat 1 - Mortal Kombat 2 - Mortal Kombat 3 - FEAR 1 - Guardians of Middle Earth + all DLC - Gotham City Imposters booster pack - LotRO Steely Dawn booster pack - Millennium Skins pack DLC for Arkham Origins. If you already paid more than the average for Scribblenauts and Arkham City, you now have these available. Enjoy! Title: Re: WB Games Humble Bundle Post by: Shannow on November 14, 2013, 07:08:30 AM What Tebonas says. Steam is actually one of those nice products that when you say you want to automatically login it does. (Unlike others which say you do but which make you log in a month later anyway just to be fucking annoying).
Fired up War in the North last night, actually enjoying it. Not sure if I'm supposed to be? |
