Is this a re-skin of Terraria? Anyone have this?

I first i thought this was Starbound, but apparently it is a different project?  Hadn't heard of this before just now.

I've been looking at it every now and then, but I'm not buying it until the multiplayer is in.

I played Terraria almost exclusively single player. So, I don't care much about multiplayer. I just want it not to suck.

What I'm saying is that I want Starbound to come out.

You and me both.
I pre-ordered Starbound a while back with as much as I could afford.

My problem with playing these single player is that I tend to be much more interested in the base design, which goes so much faster when you've got everyone else gathering resources for you.

I'm firmly on the side of indie games being The Future, but at the same time I'm weary of paying for unfinished games.  Since I gave the minimum amount to Starboud already, I can't justify this one.

About the game itself, I'd give it a 75% based on the videos.  Might really be 50% since there's no real guarantee of game completion.  Look at Cube World, where there are balance patches instead of features being put into an alpha.

Been watching this as well.

A good friend of mine is a Terraria junkie.  I'll see if he's bought this yet.  I'll give it a try if you guys have a positive experience.

I did.  I enjoyed it much more multiplayer.

I have this. I tried it for 15 minutes when it first popped up on steam awhile ago, and didnt grab me. Due to this thread, I'm giving it another shot. Heres some notes after 1hr of play.

Base Building
You can build bases ala terraria. Ive mined out a little cave, created a clay door (that I do not know how to open) and crafted some torches for lighting.

Crafting
This seems to be the meat of the game right now. Mine/hunt various resources, Refine (if needed) and plug them into recipes to create weapons/armor/base modules. I'm not sure if there are more schematics that can be discovered anywhere.

Hunting/adventuring.
Not quite sure if this isn't in this game, or I'm just having trouble finding it. The lower down in your world you go, the tougher monsters you encounter. Definately came across a rocket chucking floating robot who ate about 2 solid minutes of my rifle without dying. If you go to far down, you pretty much instadie to something called exposure. I've come across a few cave openings, but toches are pretty precious to me and once placed cannot be reclaimed. If this game has caves/dungeons and CHESTS it could be very cool. Need to find a portable light source.

Sounds exactly like Terraria.  Key is to mine like crazy to build up resources before going into deeper/higher areas.

Ok, played some more and spent more time reading forums/watching lets plays. My advice would be: keep an eye on it. Its got some promise, but not alot of meat on the bone yet.
