Lighten up, Daisy.  The first was semi-serious, in that I once heard that dentists have an unusually high suicide rate for some reason.  I bet Ghost could should some light on that.  The second was simply a poke in the ribs at Nebu, and if he read it, then I'm sure he knows it.  And if any of us live to be 100, it'll be that guy.

I hate dentists with chubby fingers.  I can't imagine ghost would let his fingers go chubby, though.  He seems fancy.  Nebu is a beautiful man and not even 50 yet!  Haemish is thin and smart and married to the most beautiful woman in the universe.  See?  All of you are unique.  And special.  Like fucking snowflakes.

Dentists, doctors, vets, farmers - all have higher than average suicide rates because they have easy access to easy means to kill themselves -lethal drugs or shotguns. This is in the UK of course, where pretty much nobody else has access to guns.

That's not a combo I expected.  If you get a medical degree, you can own a gun.  Sure, why not?

Norwegians have a high suicide rate.  Italians have a propensity towards murder.  I'm stuffed on both sides.  :(

I'm probably falling into the sarchasm here but... doctors, dentists and vets get access to things like diamorphine and other easy chemical ways to off themselves. Farmers are the ones who get the shotguns.

Genuinely great person. And not in the saintly way that he and Gandhi are sometimes treated--as a real person who thought strategically about politics and stuck to his long-term goals even while he changed tactics and adapted to circumstances.

What still rankles me is all the fucks like Reagan (and his appointees like Kirkpatrick and Crocker) and Thatcher that continued to describe him as a scary communist negro into the fucking 1980s and who never apologized for it one bit even after the guy became a sane, humane, democratic and markedly pro-capitalist head of state. The Tories had to wait for fucking Cameron to eat crow, and I don't think the Republicans of that era have EVER fessed up or apologized. Nor has anyone ever held their feet to the fire to make them.

He had a good run in years. He was 95, which is a good age. He also helped change the world. That's a lot for one man, and I think he'll be greeted warmly in the next life.

Well he was scary enough to be on the USA's terrorist watchlist until 2008 (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/05/nelson-mandela-terrorist_n_4394392.html).
But all in all, Mandela was an old-school activist that earned his place in history though his actions over multiple decades.
