Goddamnit, how dare Michael Bay make a movie that looks like fun.

Even when he's making a movie in the spirit of Elmore Leonard, he still manages to slip in a Baysplosion.  :awesome_for_real:

Oh lawd, this looks like a laugh.

I want to retract this; I couldn't hack more than 20-30 minutes of this film; it is painfully bad and has no redeeming features. What could have been a goofy light-hearted story about incompetent crooks is actually just a crash course in bad acting and weird characterisation.

Thankfully I wasn't paying to see this.

I liked it, but it is neither a normal Bay movie or a buddy comedy.

Wow, I didn't even twig that Michael Bay directed this, although I guess I can see the poor attempt at reinventing Bad Boys underneath it all now that I know. Sadly the leads have none of the effortless chemistry that Smith and Lawrence had.

I can't be sure whether there are Baysplosions in this film, I didn't make it far enough to see any, if they're there.

For those interested, the true story behind "Pain and Gain" can be read here:

http://www.miaminewtimes.com/1999-12-23/news/pain-gain/full/

It's long like a Vanity Fair article, but I found the story pretty engaging (as well as horrifying).
