Google Fiber Gigabit Internet and TV Officially Launched (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Google-Fiber-Google-Fiber-TV-Gigabit-Kansas-City-Fiberhoods,16454.html) Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Hawkbit on July 26, 2012, 05:36:07 PM Please Seattle, please Seattle.
I'd happily take the cancellation fee to do anything other than Comcast. Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: 01101010 on July 26, 2012, 05:37:38 PM Fiberhoods? :oh_i_see:
Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Fabricated on July 26, 2012, 07:26:11 PM Comcast/Verizon/et.al are going to find some way to sue about this. Can't disrupt the incredibly shitty duopoly we have going!

Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Paelos on July 26, 2012, 08:21:28 PM Without ESPN networks on that list, this would be a no-go for me.
Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Numtini on July 27, 2012, 06:40:29 AM Also no AMC Networks. No Mad Men or Walking Dead. No BBC America or Fox Soccer. No FX, TNT, or Turner Classic Movies.
Seems to me like the exact opposite of what an overbuilder needs to do: provide a superior product with more options that appeals to those who wouldn't be satisfied with generic cable. Also, I'd cheerfully trade my 12/2 $50/month internet for $0 5/1, but I have never felt at all limited in bandwidth and just don't get why I would care about 1gb. Also no Disney. Big one for anyone with kids. Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Segoris on July 27, 2012, 07:53:49 AM Please Chicago, please Chicago. Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: WayAbvPar on July 27, 2012, 09:23:02 AM Please GREATER Seattle AREA, please GREATER Seattle AREA. Calling Comcast and telling them to stuff their shitty overpriced services up their ass would make my decade. DO WANT. I'd happily take the cancellation fee to do anything other than Comcast. Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: HaemishM on July 27, 2012, 09:28:33 AM Please Seattle, please Seattle. I'd happily take the cancellation fee to do anything other than Comcast. I'm sure Jackson, MS will be last on the fucking list, but THIS. I would gladly take even the free package over fucking Comcast just to spit in Comcast's eye. Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Viin on July 27, 2012, 10:54:25 AM Do people even know what the Internet is in Jackson, MS?

Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Paelos on July 27, 2012, 11:13:53 AM You think they use nets in MS?
Naw, son. It's noodling or nothing. Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: HaemishM on July 27, 2012, 11:14:43 AM Only pussies noodle. Real men use their wedding tackle for bait. :drill:
Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Ingmar on July 27, 2012, 11:28:43 AM Sounds like a great plan for me, since I don't watch TV anyway. Also I live in Mt. View, come on Google, test it at home first!
Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: Mrbloodworth on July 27, 2012, 01:51:10 PM I just now, canceled my TV service for Cox communications. Saving 60$ a month!
I could possibly be interested in this Google thing. Title: Re: Google goes for the backstab (intros fiber TV) Post by: sickrubik on July 27, 2012, 02:00:49 PM I would kill for a more a-la-carte options and get rid of DirecTV (though I've not had a single problem with them), but NFL, HBO, AMC... those are all channels I pretty much ONLY watch.
Internet however.... |
