Title: Rock of Ages Post by: RhyssaFireheart on June 19, 2012, 08:11:51 AM I debated making a thread since I couldn't find one anywhere on search.
Went to see this over the weekend and enjoyed it. I had no clue what it was about other than the trailers on TV which kept talking about Tom Cruise in the role, so I didn't know it was a musical. The plot is hackneyed and cliché as all hell but the music wasn't bad. Definitely better if you were a child of the '80s, I think. Let's just say it was a nice evening out with the husband but I don't think I'll be running through the streets telling folks to run right out and see this. Not even sure I'd say wait for the DVD to come out either, but eh. Don't feel like the money was wasted. I could tell it was a musical from that, which amused me more and more as they went through the song list and I saw who was in it.
Here's the soundtrack on Apple: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/rock-of-ages/id523008750 Paul Giamatti singing Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" would be worth the price of admission alone, IMO. Title: Re: Rock of Ages Post by: Surlyboi on June 20, 2012, 03:52:01 PM The play was better.
