Title: Divinity: Original Sin
Post by: Lucas on June 01, 2012, 03:58:30 PM
Ok, this game looks and sounds too good to be true :ye_gods: :awesome_for_real:

It's made by Larian Studios and, story-wise, it's going to be a prequel of their 2002 Divine Divinity title (which you can currently find on GoG).

- Isometric 3D view
- Single-player or co-op
- turn based combat
- possibility to manipulate, move objects/furniture, combine them.
- Reputation system (consequences for entering another person's abode, stealing objects and so on)
- cooperative dialogue system (think SWTOR group conversation)

I liked Divinity 2 quite a bit, though it was tight on hours played between that and the first title. And the original was borderline for what I can enjoy in action rpg, but was so much better than the others in the genre imo (diablo, etc) because of the ultima like aspects of the world.

Then I read 'turn based combat' and now I'm really excited. The dev promo looks really good. Thans for hte heads-up, this one just pegged the top of my radar.

And they're shipping the dev tools with it à la Skyrim as well apparently

That looks really nice!  I like how the elemental effects can be used.
