FORMAT

6 games swiss.
You are paired against teams with a similar number of wins sho you haven't yet played.
No bitching about matchups.
Tie breaker is the number of points scored by opponents you have played.
In the case of a tie after 6 games, top 2 play the ULTIMATE DECIDER. If both teams fail to win the ULTIMATE DECIDER then EVERYBODY LOSES.

According to the rules I'm reading in the OP, your draw still counts as a Win for Matchmaking purposes.  Carni would have been your opponent regardless of your situation.

But you get an "A" for effort  :grin:

The score does not reflect the game play because ELF BULLSHIT. Both touchdowns occurred when there was only 5-6 elves on the pitch and only 1 amazon off it. My block dice was at 21%! What a nightmare season. Next time, if there is a next time, I'm going to use my much better Pro Elves who actually have players who can dodge, pass the ball, catch and block someone.

Balls and Chain 0 - f13 Pony Elves 2

Pure elven bullshit is what won this game. Comstar's block dice were terrible (21% to my 47%) but my D6's were worse. 11% catches, 56% ball pickup success, 50% dodge success (with Amazons no less). We spent the first half fiddle farting around in my half but I managed to stop him from scoring. Second half he was down 4 (I was only down 1) but his dodges and passes allowed him to score despite my clear advantage. He actually scored the turn after I had every single one of his players on the ground. The second drive of the 2nd half he was down 5 (to my 2) and yet I couldn't press the advantage at all. He steals the ball in my half, makes a long pass and scores to end the game.

I hate this Amazon team and am glad they are done.

The Deady Bears vs Dead Risen match happened this afternoon.

1 dead Ghoul for me, a crippled Skeleton for Strazos and a 2-0 walkover to the Risen.

First half I didn;t help myself when I failed to spot that the WIght I was going to move (as one of the safe moves before I did anything requiring dice rolls) needed a dodge - which of course he failed even with the reroll. This gave Strazos the time he needed to get some cover around his exposed runner and make an unbreakable cage down to the endzone. Teh dice were very firmly on Strazos' side for most of the match, I could rely on failing any D6 rolls I had to make and my blocks were having a hard time dropping his players - although I did manage an accidental -2d block that came up Pow/Pow after miscalculating a follow up block from a Werewolf. That was easily cancelled out by the double skulls, double 1s for dodge rolls and so on that characterised the rest of my dice. Meanwhile my players were falling over if the opposition so much as looked at them funny. Super frustrating game that I was seriously considering conceding by about turn 6.

Iain covered it pretty well. Oddly enough, he technically broke more armor, though I think my breaks (and results) were much more timely.

Opening kickoff was a high kick, so I put one of my AGI4 wights under it, and made a break for it up the wing while tying up as many pieces as I could. Managed to get down to the endzone and block out the opposition to run out the clock in the first half.

Second half Iain made a nice break for it, but I was able to swing enough players back over to gum up the works and stuff the attempt in his half. Eventually popped the ball out for a second TD.

Fuck it, I'm not playing another game with this team. Whoever gets matched with me can have the 3 points. Every single game with them has been a dreadful experience.

Much smack talk was said between us prior to this match, but in the end, there was no clear winner.  Good times were had though, and I'll take a Draw over a Loss any day. 

So yeah, as was mentioned I got tired of sitting on my wallet.  Dropped 500k in inducements to grab a couple kegs, an apothecary, and the MasterChef.  Never used the spare apoth, but the kegs did well to keep my orcs in play after a few KOs.  The MC failed miserably the first half, and redeemed himself on the second by depriving the Lizards of all their rerolls.  For Eld's part, he grabbed the Star Players Slibli (who suffered a Serious Concussion not even halfway through the first half  :awesome_for_real:) and Morg'n'Thorg.  For Morg's part, he MNG'd my Troll.

The orcs elected to receive first, which didn't get very far as I neglected to account for the Prehensile Tails of the Lizards, allowing a quick skink recovery and a turn 2 TD for Eld.  The orcs weren't too happy about that, and with a slightly wiser approach, managed to run it back for a TD of their own.  With the Lizard receiving, the orcs managed to hold the line and even recover the ball, but nary had the time to run it back again.

For the second half, the skinks did what skinks do best, and left the orcs at the line of scrimmage with nothing to do but beat up on saurus'.  So they did, and after they had their fun trying to foul out the Kroxigar, a bad roll followed by a bad reroll gave the orcs a chance to pressure the skinks to either score or face orcish wrath.  Eld chose the former, leaving the score at 2-1 at turn 14.  A deep kick and a bounce later allowed a free ball placement to my Thrower.  A blitz up the left side cleared an alley of attack, and the ball was moved down the pitch with a hand-off to the blitzer.  A final act of defense by Eld had two skinks going toe-to-toe with the Blitzer, but they only managed to push him back to the boundary line.  A turn 16 Blitz pushed-off one of the skinks, and the blitzer cleared the one dodge he needed to make with ease, which tied up and ended the game.

Both teams walked away with their respectful Big Guys getting the MVP for their teams, along with no permanent injuries or deaths (though I did LOL when I saw one of Eld's Saurus' trip himself to death...good thing he didn't burn his apoth yet  :why_so_serious:)

Llyse kicked the crap out of me in what I have decided to say was a closer game than the score implies.  :oh_i_see:  Seriously though we had some very strange runs of bad luck.  Probably the worst was when I kicked off in the 7th after tying it up.  The Stars received and ran their thrower into the backfield getting the majority of the rest of their team past my line of scrimmage to receive.  I decided there was no way I could cover that many receivers, especially with 3-4 of them having nerves of steel, so I tried to set up a screen to at least force them to blitz if they wanted to throw with out fear of getting intercepted.  Going to fill the last hole, that was also directly downfield from their thrower, my witch elf snake eyed her dodge roll.  Not to be out down, the Stars' thrower ran into the gap and promptly snake eyed his pass.  This left me with a 2-die block to push the thrower away, then 4 total 2+ rolls to pick up, hand off and run in with 2 gfi's to start the 2nd half up 2-1 and receiving.  Double skulls.

Really a bizzare game, but a fun one all the same.  I felt that I had worse luck at worse times, but Llyse played much better defense than I did, so I felt that the loss was fully deserved on my part anyways.  My rookie witch elf leveling off the mvp and getting +str may have something to do with how well I'm taking the loss though.  :grin:

So yeah the 'try to find each other on Steam' method is clearly not going to work for us, Ulysses, we should probably try to schedule something for real (or not, as I don't think either of us are going anywhere playoff wise regardless!)

As Carnifex mentioned Sidewindin' Stars defeat Mab's Malignancies 3-1 but it was actually a lot closer than the scoreline states.

First half started with Mab electing to kick forcing the Sneaky Sidewinders to open up the scoring. It started off with the standard quick pro elf score with some solid pressure on the Sidewinder Go to Catcher. Mab's responded in fashion taking their time to grind down their shiny poor blue cousins as best as they could before giving the Pro elves 2 turns to take the lead into the break. A witch elf received a broken neck at some point but their apothecary was in good form and made sure she would be contributing in the 2nd half.

With no time to score the Sidewinder's flooded the Dark elf half with 4 receivers willing to risk a pick for the lead. Mab's played pass coverage but the last Witch elf stumbled as her heel broke leaving a small gap for Kirill the full time thrower throw a standard throw to an open Catcher open hands.

Only for the useless trash to fumble the ball next to 3 rabid gothelfs to smash him to the ground and run the ball in the dying seconds. Fortunately his uncoordinated arms were made for smashing throats, knocking down the blitz and protecting his fumbled treasure.

So the 2nd half started with 1 - 1 with both teams having the chance to start 1 touchdown ahead.

A poor kick off left an easy high ball for one of the Witch elves to deftly catch before they caged up on slowly made their way down on the left flank. However persistence for the mismash elf team finally pressured Mab's enough for Azrin the utility Blitzer to pick up the ball in the pointy eared scrum. The veteran Mab Witch elf though showed she wasn't just TNA and 2 die blitzed, and on the 2nd 1 die frenzy rolled a gold star to knock the ball off the field where some sympathetic fans throw the ball just off the Sidewinder Redzone.

This was duly secured by the Pro elves but caught out of position the QB was in serious danger of being sacked and giving up the touchdown anyway. It was down to personal heroics now and the Malignancies couldn't come up with the goods only managing to push him into the redzone with ball in hand.

Luckily Blood bowl doesn't reward safetys and the marker was blitzed away before the ball was quickly moved up field to give the D&M Champion hopefuls a 2-1 lead with 4 turns to play.

With plenty of time but 2 elves down it looked likely for the match to end up 2 all but Nuffle like the masses hates draws and decided to gift a Blitz event to the Sidewinders and with a 2 man advantage scored without fuss.

Sidewindin' Stars look to be hitting their straps just in time for the playoffs of Drilling AND MANLINESS  :drill: :drill: :drill:

Carnifex received a +1 strength Witch elf as consolation from Nuffle (especially deserved for getting up at 6am on a Sunday for a Blood bowl match)  :ye_gods:

In a rather unfair match where Ulysses had an interface brain fart and didn't spend his 450k of inducements, the Khemri defeat Chaos 1-0. No deaths, and no permanent injury other than to a level 1 skeleton.

Gutted 0 - Going forth by day 1

I clicked the wrong button so instead of taking Morg I managed to not take any inducements out of the 450k pot I had avalable to me but still managed to scrape a 1 nil loss against a more skilled khemri team. Ingmar played well and managed to break my cage in the first half scoring on turn 8 and I managed to stop him scoring on his drive though that was more due to his inability to pick up the ball than my solid defending, having said that with a little more luck on the block dice I might have scrambled a draw from the match though I couldn't have said I deserved it.

I have had a MUCH worse time trying to pick up the ball this season compared to last, it is probably the single largest contributing factor to my record being so much worse this time. (TV bloat is probably the other main issue).

It's a moot point now, but I wouldn't have taken Morg in this match up.

You want to use inducements to make your likely strategy succeed, and 'bash more through the centre vs tomb guardians' isn't going to do it.

I'd have gone for chef+wizard. Have fun picking up the ball with agi 2 and no rerolls. Also with the lightning bolt, have fun picking it up all over again.

He failed a GFI on the final move of the game to win it.

It was a good one I think. Don't know about your side of things, but I was somewhat surprised you decided to settle for a draw and not try for a 2-1, what with all the Skinks still on the pitch.

Also, I really need to level my werebears.

Also, I really need to level my werebears.

A few skinks but not many saurai (?). Not good against Norse. I would have been beaten up and struggled if you'd had three turns at it. Was lucky enough to stop you winning when I gave you two, and that's with the best luck I could have possibly hoped for on your failed KO rolls.

If Emperors ever play Warriors, winner will be facing off against Blackrock to decide the Open champion.

If they don't, Sidewinders get the honour and similarly take the title if they can stop Blackrock.

Emperors of the Pitch win vs. Warriors of the Sun.  The Emperors go to the D&M final again, and could achieve the trophy they were so heinously denied by Ingmar's mummies last tournament!

This match went pear-shaped for ICE very early on when on the second turn I scored two injuries and a KO against him.  The rest of my drive was me plodding up the field, getting nothing but knockdowns, and by my sixth turn only four members of the lizards squad were left on the field.  It was really brutal, and I even killed a skink.  ICE, understandably, forfeited on his sixth turn, two turns after his Krox was even injured.  ICE is a great coach, and we've faced off many times before; he'll get revenge against me soon, I'm sure.

Nero, my star Ogre, leveled and one of my high-level blitzers picked up another skill as well.  Bring it on, Luckton.

The stars aren't mathematically out of contention. A tie between blackrock and the emperors, together with a win for the stars would mean tie breaker points (total score of your opponents from the 6 rounds) will determine which 2 of the 3 teams go in to an ultimate decider.

Yep.  If we know for certain that we're playing I'm sure it could get done within a day or two.  I'm able to play any time today.
