Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Surlyboi on February 09, 2012, 07:46:04 AM Heh, I saw the proof of concept trailer for this years ago and wondered if it would ever get made.
Fuckin' A. :awesome_for_real: Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Der Helm on February 09, 2012, 07:48:05 AM Palin is president ? Now I am not sure which side I should root for.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: HaemishM on February 09, 2012, 09:24:45 AM That is AWESOME.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Der Helm on February 09, 2012, 09:29:37 AM Wunderbar!
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Furiously on February 09, 2012, 09:32:40 AM I'm guessing they won't be seeing this in Germany....
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Der Helm on February 09, 2012, 09:34:23 AM Probably. Too many swastikas.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: murdoc on February 09, 2012, 02:08:34 PM I'm guessing they won't be seeing this in Germany.... "Iron Sky, a dark scifi comedy, premieres February 11th at the Berlin International Film Festival." Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Sheepherder on February 09, 2012, 02:17:03 PM Oh man, that's rich. Somebody's monocle is going to pop out.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Evildrider on February 09, 2012, 02:18:05 PM Best Movie Ever?
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Ratman_tf on February 09, 2012, 02:22:30 PM I heard about this last month, when the teaser trailer came out. Really looking forward to it.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: HaemishM on February 09, 2012, 03:03:31 PM Apparently, it was actually MADE BY GERMANS. So, you know. Nazis. :awesome_for_real:
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Der Helm on February 09, 2012, 03:31:21 PM Apparently, it was actually MADE BY GERMANS. So, you know. Nazis. :awesome_for_real: Ok, now I am pretty sure the Nazis are going to be the good guys. :DTitle: Re: Iron Sky Post by: UnSub on February 09, 2012, 04:40:44 PM It's been a while since I've seen Udo Kier as a named actor on a movie poster.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Teleku on February 09, 2012, 04:43:51 PM The least believable thing in that trailer was Palin actually becoming president.
Looks good! Please don't let it suck.. Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Merusk on February 09, 2012, 06:04:00 PM Been a long while since there was an awesome camp movie. Fantastic.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Tebonas on February 10, 2012, 04:07:20 AM Oh wow, it really got released? Color me impressed.
Also, wasn't this made by a Finnish team, not Germans? Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Mrbloodworth on February 10, 2012, 06:37:04 AM Apparently, it was actually MADE BY GERMANS. So, you know. Nazis. :awesome_for_real: http://www.starwreck.com/ I loved this film, indi as hell, lame in parts, hilarious at others. And the end battle is just awesome. This is the same crew. Star Wreck UK trailer (http://youtu.be/ORrlrlOKZMw) Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: HaemishM on February 10, 2012, 09:23:33 AM Oh wow, it really got released? Color me impressed. Also, wasn't this made by a Finnish team, not Germans? I was repeating what was told to me, but Wikipedia tells me you are correct. Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Kitsune on February 11, 2012, 08:04:36 PM I definitely got a Mars Attacks! vibe from the trailer when it comes to the scale of camp to expect from this. I approve. Though it struck me that if anyone out there would be cognizant of how much a misnomer "the dark side of the moon" is, it would be the people living there. Who could just look out a window. But sure, whatever.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Threash on February 12, 2012, 04:22:51 PM Yeah, the whole "we come in peace" thing gives it a Mars attacks vibe too. This looks freaking awesome.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: lamaros on February 12, 2012, 04:52:57 PM Am I the only one that thinks this looks shit? Like, quite shit indeed.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Merusk on February 12, 2012, 05:09:04 PM No, everyone I showed it to at work felt the same way. However, I don't get off on killing other people's fun the way you do so I didn't share.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Khaldun on February 12, 2012, 05:12:13 PM I think it looks like a number of other projects that cater to a pretty small geek memespace. Occasionally good, often no more than a one-note joke. I'll hope for this to be more generally good and fun, but I'm not exactly going to put money down on that.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: lamaros on February 12, 2012, 05:17:39 PM No, everyone I showed it to at work felt the same way. However, I don't get off on killing other people's fun the way you do so I didn't share. Yeah, me and everyone you work with get off on killing everyone's fun. I tailor my opinions on things to make sure I disagree with people, without regard to what I actually think... what the fuck? You can't even say "I think that looks a bit shit" anymore without someone giving you a personal insult? Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Mrbloodworth on February 13, 2012, 08:07:02 AM It only looks like shit if you hate fun!
 Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: HaemishM on February 13, 2012, 10:03:54 AM It's supposed to look like the stupidest shit you've ever seen.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: calapine on April 16, 2012, 08:35:27 PM luuuuuuved it!
random thoughts: * The editing/cutting was probably the worst part of it. It's a bit rough around the edges. * CGI was a positive suprise considering the shoe-string budget. It's generally "very good" and never dips below "ok-ish" even at the weakest spots. * It's nice to see Udo Kier again! I liked 'Renate' quite a bit. The actress playing the presidental election manager/assitent could have done more with the role given. * The US gets the turn of the knife quite harshly. * Overall has some flaws, which don't really matter if the film works for you. Definitly a love or hate type of experience. Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: cironian on April 17, 2012, 04:49:09 AM Yup, liked it, but they could have upped the pace a bit in the final third. Stuff became a bit too predictable when they reduced the comedy and upped the action aspects for the finale. It's OK if the viewer is aware that the heroes are going to win somehow, but knowing the exact sequence of events for 5 minutes in advance takes the fun out of it.
Still a lot of fun, and worth seeing. Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Speedy Cerviche on April 20, 2012, 01:24:17 PM huh this is out?? just in europe or something?
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Brennik on April 21, 2012, 06:39:28 AM Yea, just some European countries so far, I'm not sure if they even have a US release date yet.

Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Ratman_tf on September 11, 2012, 04:20:47 PM I know its a movie about Nazis on the moon, Yes, yes it is. :why_so_serious: Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Nerf on October 02, 2012, 03:38:56 PM Squee, and I'm taking tomorrow off!

Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Nerf on October 04, 2012, 02:16:27 AM Yeah, it was a bit of a letdown, the :drill: starts to wear off about 2/3 of the way through and the ending just doesn't bring it back.
Not sad I bought it tho, just to have it in the collection. Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Threash on October 08, 2012, 05:00:08 PM I really wish i could find a "Black to the moon? Yes she can!" poster.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: shiznitz on November 01, 2012, 11:47:15 AM I tried this. Borderline unwatchable. I turned it off about 1/3 into it.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Furiously on January 01, 2013, 11:15:38 PM Now on netflix streaming....
*edited: finished watching. Middle of the road social commentary, with some good humor and great CGI. Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Bunk on January 02, 2013, 06:05:22 AM I enjoyed it. First half was certainly stronger. Had some decent funny moments. It was one of those movies that disappointed more in that it didn't live up to its potential.
I would have enjoyed more of a movie about the black guy stuck on Moon Nazi base. Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Ratman_tf on January 02, 2013, 11:08:59 AM I put it on my Netflix queue. I'll try to watch it tonight.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Ratman_tf on January 02, 2013, 07:00:09 PM Finished. I liked it a lot. I don't think any movie can really live up to the expectations that this concept set up :drill:, but I think it did well enough.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Zetor on January 02, 2013, 11:02:22 PM Surf Nazis Must Die (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094077/) or bust, imo.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Ragnoros on January 02, 2013, 11:46:31 PM Saw this with my sister. I liked it. She loved it. Quite the antithesis of the usual straight-faced dumb summer movies.
Title: Re: Iron Sky Post by: Numtini on January 20, 2013, 05:27:02 PM This is pure brilliance.
