While cable has a huge amount of dross on it, you can (usually) find something interesting amongst the doco channels. Though Discovery Channel has slowly become the shitty "reality" show channel with 101 variations on American Chopper, but featuring guns, auctioneers, pawnshops, whateverthefuck...
