The gameplay looks ok from the videos I've seen, but my biggest concern is actually that the community isn't big enough to actually have games all the times of day I'm able to play. It isn't even showing up on the top 100 games played on Steam (store.steampowered.com/stats)
With NS2 slowly taking shape, lots of unbalance still, but its just plain unifinished, I also don't feel a particularly compelled to buy another FPS/RTS hybrid. The closest thing to compare it to is Natural Selection, though both sides more or less mirror each other. It definitely takes teamwork to win, and you're fucked if you have a garbage commander. Worth the purchase price if you've got cash that's burning a hole in your pocket. Also, Games for Windows = Brand and Standard for features. Games for Windows Live = Application. There is a huge difference. From what I understand, the community is small but active and the dev's are super into the community. |
