I'm a fan of the LotR thing, as is my wife, it promises 3-player co-op, is out in a few weeks, looks nice enough. Snowblind Studios have put out some reasonably decent games in the ARPG genre (Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, EverQuest: Champions of Norrath) though those were quite a way in the past.

I enjoyed the books, the films were decent, but the canon just doesn't seem to offer quite the right sort of material for great games.

I find the games that boast co-op always have connection issues or some other janky networking stuff.
