I assume it's the same for f.ex games bought via webshops as well, as I don't remember seeing anything specifically limiting what kind of goods we're talking about.

How did you manage to get them to respond on the same day that you submitted your ticket? My last dealings with them (and they will be my last dealings with them) they took 5-8 days to respond to my tickets each time.

Seems to be on a per case bases. The UK law cited here more often than not doesn't apply. However, the EU law equivalent does.
