Title: Warco - the war porn game Post by: Tale on September 23, 2011, 07:00:41 PM You are a reporter who goes to war zones. You have to film, survive and edit together the best possible story.
Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQlkYY88wLM) Actual war correspondents a bit concerned (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-09-23/war-correspondent-game-gets-mixed-reviews/2940130) Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: rk47 on September 23, 2011, 07:09:39 PM It's like Frank West of Dead Rising. Am I right? :awesome_for_real:
Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: Azazel on September 23, 2011, 11:08:34 PM Hm, journalist with seemingly only half of an idea of what he's talking about and no first-hand experience (of the game) dislikes something based on an idea of what could be in it or what it might be like. :why_so_serious:
Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: Fordel on September 24, 2011, 01:37:17 AM I thought the game was going be about wars fought WITH porn.
Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: Paelos on September 24, 2011, 06:40:55 AM I thought the game was going be about wars fought WITH porn. It's all about penetrating hearts and minds. Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: UnSub on September 24, 2011, 07:06:51 AM Could be interesting, but how will it be fun? The player's role is to hang back and watch the action, but not take part in directing it. Sounds like there won't be enough agency in it for most players get engaged (at least until more info comes out, anyway).

Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: Fabricated on September 24, 2011, 08:07:07 AM Um, don't most-all war journalists make half the story about themselves and provide "war porn"? I don't see many videos from war journalists where they're just filming happy people in perfectly intact neighborhoods, providing commentary where they aren't referring to themselves every 5 seconds and talking about how dangerous what they're doing is.

Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: KallDrexx on September 26, 2011, 12:17:44 PM Is this another attempt at games as art?
Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: UnSub on September 26, 2011, 04:13:01 PM It could even go so far as to be games as political commentary.
But if by "art game" you mean "probably no fun", then yes. Title: Re: Warco - the war porn game Post by: Fabricated on September 26, 2011, 04:21:24 PM There's a semi-rare game that was released here in the US for the PS2 that was basically this only with Lovecraftian monsters. You played a camera man for a famous woman reporter, and got points for getting good shots and for saving the reporter; usually by running really fast and bumping into her to knock her out of the way of stuff since you are presumably invincible, sometimes by directing her as she shoots stuff.
