You have a lot of leeway in skill selection, but there are still some standards that beastmen must meet when levelling up or a team could be invalidated. Once a coach plays their oustanding game from a previous week their team's standing will be updated immediately. League Rules I used the official f13 rankings to arrange the calendar and was able to arrange the matches in such a way that no one plays each other twice. Once we (hopefully) enter the second season I'll be using a different seeding method based only upon past performance within the Hooves & Horns matches. Games that have been played in previous weeks The remaining season's calendar If you would like to submit your matches to BBManager's Horns & Hooves League, the password is Goatse. On to the Bleat Bowl! Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Llyse on September 26, 2011, 05:47:48 PM Hey Proudft,
I'm on holidays this week so it'd be awesome if we could play sometime in the next 24 hours. I'm GMT +9 and will be frantically packing for my holiday into the wee hours Edit: Frantic packing starts now. Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Strazos on September 27, 2011, 04:50:57 PM Haemish!
I messaged you via Steam at some point, but never received a response. Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: lamaros on September 27, 2011, 07:11:46 PM With my chances of winning blown with the loss last week I went back to what I do best; injuring goats. 5 casualties and a death to Gruntle couldn't stop him taking the win (2-1), but it did give me a solid buffer in the cruelty stakes. Linda has now moved up to 7 casualties inflicted, despite spending the second half KOed herself!
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Gruntle on September 27, 2011, 07:23:38 PM My Los Stupicabras scored 2 to Lamaros's Lovers, Fighters' 1.
Lamaros's Fighters owned the pitch knocking out my +ST guy early in the first half (he had no effect and then got -AV -- or death! -- so will be out for the rest of this 1 remaining game season) and then taking out all my other skilled guys (2x foul appearance, 1 dodger) next. However, double sixes for me meant that Lamaros's Lovers allowed me to make two crazy ball breaks in his back field which ended up allowing me to go ahead 2-0 by the end of the first half (even as I was fielding 9 guys to his 11). In the second half, a slow grind meant though he got me down to three goats (so many injuries in this game!), Lamaros only managed to score once. Besides the victory, I also got 3 goats to level (one who after getting his 7th SPP was killed from a turn 15 reroll which made a both down desperation blitz into just a self down, so only two actually got skills). Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: HaemishM on September 28, 2011, 09:27:16 AM Haemish! I messaged you via Steam at some point, but never received a response. I've been in and out the last few days. Blame League of Legends, Madden 12 and now FIFA 12. Tell me a time that is good for you this week and I'll see if I can make it. Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Strazos on September 28, 2011, 12:12:11 PM I'll be around tonight, just message me via Steam.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Strazos on September 28, 2011, 08:13:27 PM 1-0 grinding win for Haemish.
I bottled him up well in the first half, but neither of us could hold the ball long enough to do anything productive. I had a chance for a passing TD in the rain at the half, but failed the pick-up. Second half I looked to be making good progress, but starting down 1 goat (3 KOs in the first half, two failed with the bloodweiser I bought) hurt, and eventually the weak blocking caught up and the ball popped out. Haemish further compounded it by failing a pick-up which actually put the ball in a great position for him. I continued to try to chase the carrier down, but couldn't get better than a knockdown, and the valiant goat was eventually fouled into a stun, which sealed the deal. I'm not normally one to complain...but this game was boring as shit. I think this was a good experiment, but playing a game with a team that basically consists of linemen kind of stinks. Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: HaemishM on September 28, 2011, 08:15:25 PM What Strazos said. The beastmen don't get interesting until there are 3 or 4 decent level ups. Our rolling was about even, it really was just a big game of Goat Grabass.
I did get 2 more levels though. One Beastman got +1 AGI, the other got block. Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: IainC on October 01, 2011, 09:10:43 AM Avaia and I are trying to mesh schedules and play our game tonight or tomorrow at the latest.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: IainC on October 02, 2011, 01:41:12 PM I have been pinging Avaia on Steam for the last three days but he so far hasn't replied. Not sure it's going to get played this weekend now. Tomorrow is a holiday here so I'll be around all day but after that it's a bit dicey as we have an 8 hour offset.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Ruvaldt on October 02, 2011, 03:10:05 PM Yeah, I'll be putting up the final day later tonight, probably. I still need to play my game with Ingmar as well, but that's largely due to my strange hours lately.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: avaia on October 03, 2011, 11:09:02 AM I've already left a message with IainC over steam, but I don't have any real availability anytime soon, I need to catch up on sleep from working way way WAY too much this weekend. I'm out of commission for a couple of days, I'll go ahead and forfeit the two matches I am missing. :heartbreak:
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Ruvaldt on October 03, 2011, 06:28:23 PM I'll accept the forfeits at the end of the tournament. In the meantime just do your best to play the games. About to post Day 6 now.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: IainC on October 04, 2011, 12:06:20 AM Yeah, I'd much rather actually get to play a game than get a default win.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Llyse on October 04, 2011, 10:08:19 PM Hey Proudft I'm back in town now and am ready to play. I'm GMT +9 which is a pain but should be free for the weekend.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: proudft on October 04, 2011, 10:40:31 PM Yay! I might be able to catch you in the morning, but if not, the weekend will probably work at some point.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: proudft on October 14, 2011, 10:55:45 PM OMG we finally played! :drill:
Breaking Wind won 1-0. That was also the casualty score. Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Llyse on October 14, 2011, 11:35:58 PM First half was the more action while the 2nd had some fun placement and ball fumbling giving Proud a sniff of a draw :oh_i_see:
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Strazos on October 15, 2011, 09:22:58 PM Boring game complete, 2-0 to Llyse. The result was never really in doubt.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: IainC on October 16, 2011, 04:34:50 PM Avaia and I finally got to play our game for day 5. Final score was 2-0 to Avaia. He started well by injuring a goat on his very first block and basically kept that up throughout the match. I rarely had more than 4 or five goats able to get to their feet for any given turn. He scored one after about 5 turns in the first half and, playing Elf-style by dodging to make critical blitzes prevented him for scoring a second until late in the match but I was just holding off the inevitable for most of the second half. I had a good chance to equalise on about turn 13 or so but I didn't notice that the two players I was sending the goat with the ball between weren't on my side and that rather closed down the only realistic scoring chance that I had.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: avaia on October 17, 2011, 11:29:58 AM Yeah, I can't upload to BBM, but I won 2-0 in score and 4-0 in casualties.
Title: Re: Horns & Hooves League: Day 5 Post by: Ruvaldt on October 17, 2011, 09:43:57 PM 2 - 1 Ingmar.
It was a fun game that I honestly thought I had at least rendered to a tie after we were 1 - 1 in the rain, but Ingmar's goatelf bs continues. I had an advantage in blocks, I'm pretty sure, but my ball pickups were terrible. I got a double on a level up though so I'm happy. That makes two goats with dodge! |
