I saw a very short clip about WotW. Seemed to be a movie about Tom Cruise running away from every location with the kid on his back looking frightend.

WotW will probably suck hairy donkey balls while Fantastic Four will be an interesting and entertaining film that takes gratuitous liberties with the comics.*

And the world will spin on.

As wary of the FF film as I am, I still have yet to see anything about WotW that interests me. It's Speilberg, so there will be impressive special effects, but it won't really say anything I haven't heard before. I suspect it'll be preachy as all get out. I'm still trying to figure out why Tim Story was given the Fantastic Four job, since Barbershop was not actiony at all. It seems almost as out there as the miscasting of Jessica Alba as Sue Storm.

But oh will she look teh hawtness.

I'm interested in seeing how the world's second most over-rated director will manage to work Nazis (or some form thereof) in as the bad guys. The fucker haasn't made a movie without Nazis since what, E.T.?

I'm pretty sure that the coffin in Poltergeist was filled with a Nazi.  I mean, come on.  He used the word Poltergeist when ghost would have been sufficient.  Damn Nazi lover.

Its a well known fact that anything is made 20 times better with the inclusion of Nazi's.  Same goes for pirates.

Now a nazi-pirate-zombie ( with a hint of ninja ) movie, that'd be the best movie ever made.

Nazi-like entities in some form assfag, and you knew it. It said "in some form" in my post. And that narrows it down to about 4 movies that don't have nazis in them. And two of those haven't been made yet and one is a fucking documentary about directing. But I'll bet you that there's actors acting out their parts as psuedo-nazi entities in the background or stock footage. I'd go movie by movie and tell you what organization represented the Nazis, but since you'll just ignore it I won't waste my time. Besides, your collie is probably in heat and I'd hate for you to waste valuable dog-fucking time with something like reading stuff that's right or having to google up an inappropriate response you won't bother to read through before you post it. Fucking subspecies you.

Spielberg is a mediocre director who's good at churning out formula movies for the lowest common denominator. He does nothing that anyone on this board with the same resources couldn't do. Yes, even Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan were mediocre formula movies. But the bright side for most of you should be that he's not as over-rated as last year's robot jesus Quentin Tarantino.

Oh, no, I get it.  In Empire of the Sun, the Japanese are the Nazis.  In Hook, Captain Hook and his pirates are the Nazis.  In Jurassic Park, the dinosaurs are the Nazis.  In Minority Report, Orwellian future cops are the Nazis.  In Amistad, it's our own country that acts as the Nazis.

Actually, if you then add in an army of monkeys, you will have achieved cinematic perfection. Because everything is better with monkeys.

Tarantino was Robot Jesus in '94. Now, he's just highly controversial, because you either thought Kill Bill was complete and utter crap or it wasn't. If you are a religious right nutter, then Mel Gibson is last year's Robot Jesus. If you're a comic book geek, Sam Raimi is last year's Robot Jesus. And if you're Jesus, you just wept.

The problem with Spielberg, except for two exceptions (Raiders, Jaws) is that he doesn't have the faintest idea of how to wrap up a movie.  He's just horrible, horrible, horrible at concluding a story.  However, if that's his biggest sin, big freakin' deal.  He's still more talented than 99% of the directors out there.

Spielberg has, however, gotten quite rusty in his old age. His new movies aren't near as impressive as his early stuff. It's a shame really. Senility didn't make Hitchcock suck and arguably he got better near the end there. Maybe Spielberg will have another run of awesome shit.

Tarantino, however, will never be good. And to keep on topic with the original post, as little as I care about War of the Worlds, it's still more than I care about the Fantastic Four. They are the single most boring supergroup ever.
