Most importantly Rome: Total War now £1.25. If for some reason you haven't played this at this price there's no excuse not to. I've bought it just to have the game on Steam because it'll be easier next time I have to wipe down the contents of my hard drive. I also own it already, but it's worth the pocket change to get the Steam version.
I am not sure why, but for me R:TW was the pinnacle of the series. I just haven't enjoyed its successors as much (although god knows, I keep buying them all.) If they could iron that stuff out I would buy the whole series on Steam (even though I have a CDs for Rome and M2, and M2 on steam, I think).

I played MTW 2 with the 'lands to conquer' mod a few weeks ago, worked without a hitch.
