Post by: UnsGub on March 01, 2011, 07:50:58 AM
Been to UO and EQ Fairs in years past.  Heading to Iceland in a few weeks for http://fanfest.eveonline.com/en/default (http://fanfest.eveonline.com/en/default).  Anyone else going?

There ought to be a few f13 people there.

I'll be there-ish for the party. If there's F13ers in town who want to get a drink, I could make some time on Friday evening.

I saw at least 3 different people arrested during the party. All locals, though - the EVE players were pretty well-behaved compared to the pothead/speedfreak crew that showed up for the headline acts.

Much crazier this year compared to previous Fanfest parties.

Post pictures. Did you go to any tech presentations? I only managed to grab the fleet fight lag presentation and a little bit of the character creator showcases. I really wish they would upload CCP Sreegs' anti-botting presentation.

I spent nearly no time there whatsoever this year. I haven't played the game in ages, little interest in it. I was mostly there for the party, and I didn't have a camera.

I did notice that every single bar in downtown Reykjavik had an "EVE FANFEST 2011 PARTNER" sign on it, in an effort to get some of that sweet, sweet tourist cash. Seemed to work too - EVE lanyards and badges were ubiquitous, save for some of the more out-of-the-way venues.
