Title: Stalker, recreated in cryengine2 Post by: tgr on February 17, 2011, 12:04:08 PM Quote A brave Russian mod team has challenged themselves to port the whole of GSC’s survival horror, STALKER, into Crysis’ more advanced engine. The project’s called Cryzone – Sector 23, and is far along enough for the team to have released a video of the mod in action. You’ll find the video embedded below. The mod is the work of a team called World of Stalker. It’s still a work in progress, but famous elements from the STALKER series are already in there, including the bleak landscapes, anomalies, and groups of terse Russian men sitting around campfires. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/02/07/modders-recreating-stalker-in-cryengine-2/ I've uttered a desire to see ArmA2 recreated in a cryengine, but I'll live with stalker being recreated. Squee. Title: Re: Stalker, recreated in cryengine2 Post by: Sir T on February 17, 2011, 12:57:30 PM Sounds like fun. Hope they actually complete it.

Considering how hard it is to survive in that game yeah. Title: Re: Stalker, recreated in cryengine2 Post by: bhodi on February 19, 2011, 08:44:50 PM Interesting, sure. Unfortunately, chances are it'll just end up like 99% of the rest of the total conversion ports - half way finished and dead in the water. There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of them for every major engine for the past 10 years. I don't see this one as any different, at least until they're at the 'polish' stage.
Title: Re: Stalker, recreated in cryengine2 Post by: Vaiti on February 20, 2011, 04:13:32 AM I've worked on a number of those, and what bhodi is saying is so true. Neat video, but I won't pay the project any attention untill they are releasing it as done.

I'm looking forward to Red Orchestra. Apparently it'll be a full Russian-soldier campaign for Medal of Honor. Sounds great! I also heard that some guys called Gizka were going to fix up all the bugs in KOTOR2. Looking forward to that as well. :why_so_serious: Title: Re: Stalker, recreated in cryengine2 Post by: tgr on February 21, 2011, 04:29:32 PM holy fuck don't wait for team gizka, they've been at it for fucking ever. And apparently the entire team's quit, the project owner didn't work on it for months before the website went offline in the middle of 2010. It's dead jim.

Found that in the SWTOR thread, no idea if it's better or even different from the first link I gave. vOv Title: Re: Stalker, recreated in cryengine2 Post by: Sky on February 22, 2011, 09:47:56 AM Clean up crew to the bottom of the Sar Chasm, please.
