Title: John Barry RIP
Post by: DraconianOne on January 30, 2011, 11:55:58 PM
Unconfirmed report that legendary film composer John Barry has died.

For those who don't know who he is, he was the guy who composed the James Bond theme, won five Oscars (Dances With Wolves, two for Born Free, Out of Africa, The Lion In Winter) and did the music for films like Zulu, Chaplin, King Kong (1976) and The Black Hole.

EDIT: BBC now running with news (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12321610)

Plenty of people don't like the movie, but the Dances With Wolves soundtrack is a great piece of classical composition. I carried it with me on my travels around the world. RIP.

He wrote it for the doctors who saved his life after a previous illness.
