Silly, that's only when the Rapture starts.  The world ends on October 21.  (Which is a Friday, so odds are he'll be a dick and destroy us in the wee hours so we can't get the party started yet.)

I'm going to start a site that proclaims that there will be no rapture, just an end to all things on Oct 20, 2011.  See if he'll call my bluff or not.

I really look forward to May 21st.  It's a win/win for me.  Either they're right, and well, I'll have 5 months without having to listen to them anymore, or nothing happens, and yet again they look like idiots, and I get something to laugh at.

Today I'm quite prepared to believe the end is nigh.

The same state that got wiped out by insane floods in Australia is about to get hit by a Category 5 tropical cyclone (hurricane that spins the other way).

I thought it was fires then floods.. looks like it's floods then fires.  That makes more sense when trying to wipe out a populace, because the floods would have just put out the fires. This way the floods have concentrated the people who can then be burned up more efficiently.

There's nothing brand new about it. He said before May that that Rapture would happen on the 11th of May, but that the actual end of the world would happen in October. This is just a newspaper recycling old stories. Unless of course the old fool is actually broadcasting this prediction like the story is saying, which would be a fairly silly thing to do considering the 21st is next week.

To be fair, it is entirely possible that the rapture DID happen back in May just as he predicted...only that not nearly as many people qualified as was expected.  One could check the obituaries for the people that died that day - those are the people you'll want to model your life after.

Well, for the sake of argument, assume that God is a fact and the Rapture is going to happen.  Which religion hit it spot on the head?  My guess would be none of them.  Those buddhists seem rather nice, though.  Some of them wear pretty sweet robes, too.

I still like the joke that the Rapture actually happened years ago and nobody qualified, and now we're well into the Tribulation without any of the fundies realizing it.
