Title: Green Hornet
Post by: Samwise on January 17, 2011, 08:29:22 AM
Could have sworn we had a thread for this.

Trailer. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAaAKBvFxpM)

Anyway, I saw this over the weekend and was entertained.  I felt like Seth Rogen wasn't just doing his usual shtick (at least not entirely).  The action scenes were fun.  The story moved along at a good pace.

How was Jay Chou (Kato)?

It's been mentioned in a couple of other threads, probably remembering those.

I thought Jay Chou was awesome.  He had a deadpan that played really well with Rogen's buffoonery.

I'll admit I never really watched the Green Hornet TV show at all.  The movie though was surprisingly fun.  I liked it and I'm kind of glad that Stephen Chow backed out of the movie because Jay Chou was great as Kato.

Stopped to see this last night since we were downtown for a hockey game anyway. Suprisingly entertaining, though the 3d was clearly tacked on and pointless. It suffered a little in the middle from pacing issues and rather blatant plot points (oh noes! he's treating Kato like shit and hurting his feelings!), but the humor and action blended in a suprisingly effective way. Loved the bad guy.

Cameron Diaz is not attractive, stop putting her in to movies.  Even in her underwear she is unattractive.  Please stop.  There are so many more attractive actresses in Hollywood who will most likely work for less too!

Jay Chou did a good job in an otherwise bland and boring movie.

Among other things, the bit at the end with not wanting to go to the hospital because of the bullet in his shoulder was awful.   I guess in that reality the hospital would not turn the bullet over to the police who would then see it was fired from a rifle, one of their own in fact, and not a pistol.   :uhrr:

Unique usage of 3D cinematography, but it felt like too much of a gimmick in this movie.

I saw it in 2D and didn't even realize that there was a 3D version.  In retrospect I can see how the fight scenes could have been interesting with 3D effects, but I didn't feel like I was missing anything.

I'll watch this movie. But nothing in it can beat this fight scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13IuxNixyig&feature=related) (from 3:40).

Agreed.  I was horrified by how she looked in this movie.  Then I saw her Vegas movie on cable and knew I wasn't crazy.  She has a grandma face with a boxer's nose and no shape.
