Title: Study linking vaccines and autism a fraud Post by: voodoolily on January 06, 2011, 10:49:24 AM Andrew Wakefield revealed to have faked his data. (http://edition.cnn.com/2011/HEALTH/01/05/autism.vaccines/?hpt=T1)
I can't wait to see the celebrity and (fucking) hippie fallout on this one. Title: Re: Study linking vaccines and autism a fraud Post by: Mrbloodworth on January 06, 2011, 10:50:47 AM I thought we went over this years ago.

So glad the media is finally sniffing around this story and smelling the steaming bullshit. Title: Re: Study linking vaccines and autism a fraud Post by: voodoolily on January 06, 2011, 11:03:06 AM I guess since you guys aren't tapped in to the hippie horseshit parenting community here in Portland, you're missing a perfectly good chance to tell people that they are fucking stupid. People still think there's a link, even today. As in "the day after seeing all this on the news."
Title: Re: Study linking vaccines and autism a fraud Post by: voodoolily on January 06, 2011, 11:04:06 AM I thought we went over this years ago. ...and the Ironic Quote of the Day goes to... :awesome_for_real: Title: Re: Study linking vaccines and autism a fraud Post by: K9 on January 06, 2011, 11:06:28 AM Seems the BMJ really cannot reiterate this strongly enough (http://www.bmj.com/content/342/bmj.c5347.full), this is about the second or third time they've put out an editorial along these lines.
Also, Jenny McCarthy's kid never had autism it turns out. Tucson has a pretty large hippie population as well. Also, Jenny McCarthy's kid never had autism it turns out. Look at his parents. What chance did the kid have to not have some sort of disorder? It's just another move by Big Pharma, and WHY DO YOU HATE CHILDREN.Title: Re: Study linking vaccines and autism a fraud Post by: voodoolily on January 06, 2011, 11:34:11 AM I played the "people still think the earth is flat" card and am eagerly waiting for a response (at one of the stupid hippie websites that no, Sauced, is not Portland Green Parenting because we both know I can't play nice there). :why_so_serious:

Title: Re: Study linking vaccines and autism a fraud Post by: Oban on January 06, 2011, 11:53:01 AM My kids have been so loaded up with the standard shots plus pretty much all the optional shots because of the ever so slim risk that I or some vector hacking up an entire lung during a fourteen hour flight might bring something back home for them from godfuckistaniesapines.
Except the swine flu shot, because that shit just did not seem kosher. People still think there's a link, even today. As in "the day after seeing all this on the news." Frontline did an entire show about this issue (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/vaccines/)with some parents in Ashland (?) OR who were militant anti-vaccine. Scarred the shit out of us. Particularly watching the movie of the 8 month old in Portland who got pertussis (whooping cough) via her older brother who got it from a non-vaccinnated kid. And yeah anti-vaccine Jenny McCarthy also in the show has come out to admit her son 1) isn't autistic and 2) may not have got it from an MMR (vaccine set). Title: Re: Study linking vaccines and autism a fraud Post by: Daeven on January 06, 2011, 03:44:28 PM There should be a Japanese game show about running over anti-vaccine parents with Styrofoam wrapped monster trucks. While Iron Chef screams and makes sushi.
or something. (Time mag article) (http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1967796-1,00.html) I had to turn off that episode (and I almost never do with Frontline) because that dumb bitch who GOT ALL THE VACCINES AS A KID AS SHE IS IN MY AGE RANGE said something like "I never knew anyone who had these diseases growing up, they don't exist in OUR world anymore." |
