Title: November update
Post by: Yegolev on November 29, 2010, 08:14:10 PM
Too bad they already named this the November Update, because it needed to cook some more.  My sound is missing, for one thing.  My mining animations are gone, for another.  Quest tracker is now wrong for a Forchel quest, can't remember if it was wrong before, though.

No bugs to report here (although two addons needed updating) aside from all rune-satchels being stuck on Turquoise :ye_gods:.  Patch took an age though.

On the plus side, the Winter-home cosmetics are super awesome (http://city.navsplace.net/lotro/?p=776).

I give the cosmetics a hearty "meh".

More hat types are a good thing!

The stocking cap is the only model I haven't seen yet.  The rest look like a reskin of existing models.

barter wallet is underwhelming.  Should take barter tokens/coins that are bound not just skirmishes.

Now LotRO is selling an overpriced sparklepony for dumbasses to buy.

Unlike the sparklepony, the stats on this don't scale. So now your level 5 PC can enjoy the same travel advantages that other players have to get from a level 40+ faction mount.

So, to reiterate:

* Turbine won't sell Faction mounts with Faction mount stats.
* But they will sell mounts that look like Faction mounts, without the stats.
* And the will sell mounts that don't look like Faction mounts, but have their stats.

Wonder if I still have 2k worth of free lifetime sub points lying around for that.

Got my sound working, so I suppose I'll head back to civilization and see what is going on with the vault.

I'd like the new quest windows more if they were resizable.  What's up with not making all (most?) windows resizable?

There is a major construction project outside Thorin's Hall.  Major.  I suppose I need to roll ANOTHER elf so I can try the new Ered Luin.  Saw some goats, also.

Looks like Thornley's worksite is also making progress.  They will finish the building just in time to be stomped by an orc invasion.

I saw that. $20 is a lot of money for onehorse for onecharacter, too. The Dusky Nimblefoot Goat is kind of a faction mount these days, though. While it was originally a freebie to all characters on an account (WoW model, more or less), you now need to grind up a bunch of dwarf faction and then buy it for 5 gold. Or spend 1k TP on it.

Ah well, I guess it's the DDO model.

Oh my, the "play" system in the winter home area, is impressive!

The hecklers are a nice touch.
