Title: San Bruno, CA (South of San Francisco) on fire Post by: Nerf on September 09, 2010, 11:29:12 PM Looks like a gas main, 24" pipe, initial reports were a plane crash, but those appear to be unfounded. 140+ homes with fire damage, 50+ 'severe' fire damage or completely gone, at least 5 dead so far. Fire trucks are radioing in from locations they are getting called to that there is absolutely nothing there. Location is apparently 3 blocks from the San Andreas fault line, but the cause of the explosion is still unknown.

Title: Re: San Bruno, CA (South of San Francisco) on fire Post by: Sheepherder on September 12, 2010, 02:12:24 AM Probably more healthy than fire. Bombers take time to scramble, anyone close to the seat of the fire by the time the bomber reached it was dead. So they were using the retardant solely for saving property. This is probably the stuff they're using. I have my doubts. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phos-Chek) |
