I'm writing a master thesis about the new business models used by the music industry to sell tracks & stuff using the mighty interweb and i'm in need of primary research such as this wonderful survey you could fill, filling me with intense feelings of love for mankind at the same time.

Survey criticisms, because it's your Masters:

Q1) should be 30 - 39 category, not 30+, if you have 40+ category.

Q3) those are some very big areas. Pick 'Asia' and you could be anywhere from China to Indonesia.

Q4) I live with my family, but that's because I have kids, not because I'm living with my parents. You won't be able to break those categories up, although I suppose you can make a rough guess by factoring in age.

Q5) Should have a 'never' option. Also, 'once in a while' means to me 1 or 2 times a year, not 5, so I had to pick 'almost never' when I don't actually feel that's accurate.

Q6) Those are some oddly spaced categories, unless you've got third party data that matches those numbers.

Q10) It should be 'extremely likely' and 'extremely unlikely', not 'most likely' and 'least likely'. After all, only one thing can be 'most' likely, right? UPDATE: ahh, an error that forces me to do it your way.

You should define concert also, 4 times per month is ridiculous unless I'm supposed to be counting live shows at bars which I wouldn't usually from the word concert. Seriously though could anyone want to or afford to go to 4 concerts a month? The numbers make it seem like you might be asking how many live acts do I see a month so like a concert w/ 2 bands is two but a festival where I see 8 acts in a day and a shitton in the weekend is that 1 concert? 3 concerts one for each day?

Ditto the bit about once in awhile being not 5 times a year if we're talking how many times do I spend $30-100 to go see a true concert concert.


So because I don't spend $100/yr I don't buy music? What?
