Title: You maaay possibly want to uninstall Xfire Post by: Lum on August 02, 2010, 09:51:44 PM ...at least based on who just bought them and fired/had quit en masse their entire staff. (http://brokentoys.org/2010/08/02/xfire-acquired-neglects-to-keep-people-who-made-xfire/)

It's that annoying sig pic generator that tells you how much someone has been playing WoW. :awesome_for_real: Title: Re: You maaay possibly want to uninstall Xfire Post by: Ratman_tf on August 03, 2010, 12:16:19 AM It's that annoying sig pic generator that tells you how much someone has been playing WoW. :awesome_for_real: wat? I get some decent mileage out of X-Fire taking screenshots and especially movies and having it all in one place/app. I don't think I'll bail just yet, but I do fear change. I suspect someone is really looking to create the gamer social network while also being able to sell player data (maybe not personal information, but who knows) to interested parties. EA would love to know how players actually play their single player games versus 'lab' conditions or self-reported behaviours. It's a bunch of douches from IGE, including Brock Pierce. EA would love to know how players actually play their single player games versus 'lab' conditions or self-reported behaviours. EA bought Rapture and never did a damn thing with it (publicly). That said, I've mainly used Xfire for the in-game chat and not for screenshots (aside from ME2), so I've nuked it and just added Xfire to Raptr for the chat (for as long as that works). Edit: Word order. Title: Re: You maaay possibly want to uninstall Xfire Post by: Chimpy on August 03, 2010, 06:31:20 AM Isn't it pretty much assumed that any time someone buys a site that is a "social network" of any sort for gaming, it is going to be IGE people putting up the dough?
I know I assumed it when I opened the thread and saw "bought" in the first line. I won't miss it once I uninstall it tonight after I get home.
