Title: And another one bites the dust (Exteel) Post by: DaZog on July 30, 2010, 08:17:00 PM From Exteel homepage~ (http://www.exteel.com/us/news/archives/2010/07/all_good_things.html)
I played it now and then, but the cash shop for Exteel was poorly thought out. Things cost a lot, and/or you just rented them out for a week. Sad, not a lot of giant robot MMO goodness out there. Which pretty much describes most of NCSoft's catalog now that I think about it. Title: Re: And another one bites the dust (Exteel) Post by: Speedy Cerviche on August 02, 2010, 06:35:51 AM I also played Exteel a few years ago it was a fun, fast paced shooter without too much in the way of cheesy tactics, and in a cool sci-fi robot theme.
Didn't have too much skill curve depth tho so I eventually got distracted by other games and forgot about it. They probably would of been better off if they just packaged it as a multiplayer shooter with minimal if no RPG elements instead of a free to play MMO with an item shop, then derived additional revenue if successful releasing X-pacs and new mechs as DLC. Title: Re: And another one bites the dust (Exteel) Post by: Hoax on August 02, 2010, 02:58:04 PM It had too much lag and the worst kind of cash shop a f2p game can have. Also it was just a lobby + gameroom f2p shooter with robot design not at all a mmo. Fun though and I'd bet they made some money with it.
