Based off the Philip K. Dick short story. Looks interesting, kind of a Dark City vibe but without all the dark. Title: Re: The Adjustment Bureau Post by: HaemishM on May 13, 2010, 08:04:40 AM Looks good.
Title: Re: The Adjustment Bureau Post by: Mrbloodworth on May 13, 2010, 08:10:12 AM Sounds quite a bit exactly like dark city, with out the film noir, or the epicness.

Title: Re: The Adjustment Bureau Post by: K9 on March 07, 2011, 04:38:57 PM I saw the trailer and worried that this is some strange attempt to pick up some leftover momentum from Inception.
I'm not going to be surprised if I am way off base here though. I'm not going to be surprised if I am way off base here though. Reviews are saying this is more of a quirky romantic comedy than anything serious. Title: Re: The Adjustment Bureau Post by: Rendakor on March 07, 2011, 10:48:56 PM It wasn't funny, but definitely more romantic than I expected from the trailer. I went in looking for Bourne + Inception, walked out disappointed.
Title: Re: The Adjustment Bureau Post by: K9 on March 08, 2011, 02:54:18 AM Of all the things it could suggest, the trailer does not suggest romcom in any way.

I went in looking for Bourne + Inception, walked out disappointed. Caught a showing this weekend, it was OK -- I think I almost dozed off during 1st 30-40 minutes, as it moved slowly, but it got interesting enough from that point on. Though, predictable. Definitely no *Inception*. But better than *I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry*. Disappointed because while I expected the romantic story, I anticipated more cosmological and philosophical whimsey-ness within the narrative backdrop. Maybe it was there and I just was unable to see. Fight your fate to be with the one you love? Screamed out to me that anyone expecting sci-fi thrills was going to be disappointed. Much like "The Lake House" was never going to be a mediation on the physics of time travel. Title: Re: The Adjustment Bureau Post by: K9 on March 13, 2011, 01:16:06 AM Romcom was my bad; I should have said romance.
